Sue Grafton Book Series: "E is for Evidence", "S is for Silence", "O is for Outlaw"

Re-starting this thread because it was broken and deleted.

Anyone a fan of Sue Grafton? Which books of hers have you read? Do you have a favorite book of hers in the Alphabet series?

I have read all except the most recent, although I started it this past Thursday. I do not know that I have an actual favorite. There were a couple in the middle I probably will not re-read, though. I guess it is hard to maintain quality in such a long series.

I have never heard of this author, have to check them out. Is there any titles that I should try to find if it's my first time reading them?

You don't really have to read them in order, because the books are all self-contained stories, but the things going on in the background with Kinsey's personal life are easier to keep track of if you read them chronologically. The titles go in alphabetical order, so the series starts with "A" is for Alibi then goes to "B" is for Burglar, etc. It makes it easy to remember what book you're on if you decide to go in order.

Anyway, I really like the series. I just finished "L" is for Lawless a few weeks ago, so I've got a ways to go before I'm up to date, but that's more because I'm slow to get through series, especially those with self-contained stories, than because of a lack of interest on my part.

I went to a book signing for Grafton once, back when I had just read a couple of her books. She gave a good talk, although I wish I had read more of the books when I went. I'd probably get more out of it now that I'm more invested in the series.

I just finished two of her books.

Q is for Quarry and R is for Ricochet

Quarry had a very strange ending, almost like she decided she was through with the book.

Ricochet was great. I love it ,when Kinsey can meet someone as clever or cunning as she is and I hope Reba can show up in another book.

i have to disagree on the not reading them in order. there are many recurring characters, and also different lovers to figure out.

i think the first time you read them you should start with 'a' and go through the alphabet in order.

I also attended one (maybe two) book signings years ago. I do remember that at one they had a contest to make the best peanut butter and pickle sandwich.

Does anyone have any idea when the next book will be published? I don't have a shortage of books to read but I just realized it's been 15 months since T is for Trespass was released. I tried her website but saw nothing recent.
