^^ Would love to read your review after you've watched!!
I have not had any time to read this past week, it's been insane! I hope to go to bed early so I can just read for a bit tonight! I'm still only like 40 pages into The Girl Who Played With Fire! |

Yeah, I got the chance to see it this weekend. It was awesome, certainly a buy, and one of the best book to movie adaptations I've ever seen. I'm going to use some spoiler tags and give away some stuff in the first book, so if you haven't read it yet, be careful, but I will say that the movie really stuck with the book. It wasn't super dialogue heavy and I had no problem with it being in Swedish and reading the subtitles as well as following along. Reading the book first will probably help. The acting was amazing. The actress who played Lisbeth was amazing at it and she's the main reason I don't think the American version will be as good. I can't see anyone doing as good of a job as she was able to do. She captured Lisbeth's personality perfectly. This certainly wasn't a "feel good" movie, but then, neither was the book. It is a fascinating story though.

So, the local movie store was going out of business last Thursday so they had a huge sale, basically giving away all their movies to try to get rid of inventory, and I got a copy of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. It's unfortunate that they couldn't have closed after The Girl Who Played With Fire came out because now it'll probably be a long time before I can see that since we no longer have a video store nearby.

I saw that. So a sequel series, or just a book? Didn't the triilogy have a conclusion? is there a need for a sequel?

Stieg Larsson's original trilogy is and I've read the 4th and want to read the 5th book by chosen writer to continue the series, David Lagercrantz. |

I've always wanted to read them but never got around to it. Did he ever fnished the third one himself or did someone else did?

Stieg finished and released the first three on his own and he had notes for more novels. The family chose Lagercrantz to continue the novels, but it was like 10 years before they could decide.
Lagercrantz is also a crime journalist so has viable knowledge to help the stories progress well, IMO. |

Stieg Larsson's original trilogy is one of my favourites and I do enjoy the additions by True Crime Journalist David Lagercrantz.
Technically this is a Stieg Larsson/David Lagercrantz thread! |
