I brought the first two books this summer cause wanted to them but am not going to skip ahead of the tv series. So am going to stop after these cause I find that the show is taking alot from the books, so don't want to be spoiled

About half through Dead Until Dark and am liking it with finding that 80% is the same to the show. So its funny to picture the scene with how it happened on the show

I haven't thought about whether or not I'm going to continue the series past what I've seen of the TV show. I probably won't be able to help myself I think for some reason it's easier for me to keep things straight between what happened in the book and what happened in the show or movie if I read the book first, so I'll probably continue with the series. Plus, aren't there like 9 books so far?? I couldn't wait to read all of them!

Has Harris said the total number of planned books she is thinking of for the series?

I don't have the rest of my 2009 planned out! I think I will continue on with the series - I haven't had a chance to read any more of Living Dead in Dallas, but hopefully will next week

She has 3 more books planned, and thats the end of the series. She wanted to end it before things become too forced.

I read the first two of these books over the summer, after I started catching up on True Blood. I like them pretty well, and I'm excited to get into some of the more Eric-heavy books.

Wow, that is a lot of books in the series! Thanks for that info I'm glad she doesn't want to push things too far with it...it sounds like things are still coming pretty well to her for the series.

Seems that the show did change some things from the book

Spoiler:
Interesting that it was actually Eric in the book that killed Long Shadow cause of how he was attacking Sookie

Also found this interesting

Spoiler:
I thought that Sookie couldn't read vampire thoughts but it seems that she can read Eric's thoughts. Hmm and interesting to see where Charliane took this

I don't think I'm going to watch the show because I do enjoy the books way to much.

I was pretty impressed with how close to the book the first season 1- of course there are some differences, but overall I feel like the show kept more closely the book than any other book to movie/tv I've read read/seen.

I heard season one was similar but it was changed a lot for season 2.

Finally finished Dead until Dark didn't feel like reading for like 2 weeks from being sick

S1 for the show added alot to what was in the book, they pretty much kept to it but added and changed small things. I liked the TV version more though
