Sloppy Firsts series by Megan McCafferty

Okay, I dunno about you guys but I loved these two novels and I'm excited about the fact that Megan's working on the third one (due in a year or two).

She captured my mind very well and ended up helping me with many things that has been going on and ended up happening to me. What did you guys think?

How did you find out that a third one was coming out? Because when I read the first one the ending seemed incomplete, but then I thought that it was one of those unresolved kind of endings until the second one came out. And then I kind of thought that the second one was the last one, but the ending seemed incomplete on that one too.
Well, I wonder what's gonna happen in the third one? Like who's gonna be back?
Sloppy Firsts/Second Helpings also helped me get through some difficult times. Great books!

Go here. I thought the second one was more complete, but I wanna know what happens with Jessica and I was excited when I read that.

I love Marcus "Tuttie" Flutie. I always couldn't wait to see what t-shirt he'd have next. He cracked me up.

Thanks for that. I can't wait to read both books.
Marcus was one of my favorites. I loved his shirts. Especially "cominghome"
But of all the people I think I liked "omigod!" Sarah the best. She reminded me of the girls on that t.v. show Popular.

They're both in the form of Jessica Darling's diaries (with a letter at the end of each month to her bff Hope).

Jessica is an extremely sarcastic, analytical person (actually, kinda like Angela on "My So-Called Life") who is tired of the "Bubblegum Bimbos and Assembly Line Meatballers" at her school. But she always was alright, even though her dad was obsessed with her only sport, track, her mom wanted her to be like her bubblegum bimbo sister and her friends just needed smacked, because she had her best friend Hope who totally understood her. Then Hope's brother dies of an overdose and her 'rents believe they need to get away from the town so they move to another state and yeah...it's funny, it's great, it captures the teenage mind and keeps ya hooked.

I'm not great at summaries, so sorry if that doesn't do it justice

I liked these books but I'm not sure I want to read a third one. I will read it but I don't think another is necessary.

Yay! I love these books. They're just so real, like you know all the characters in the book, Megan rules.

I can't wait for the third one. I read Second Helpings in 4 hours...couldn't put it down. I love Marcus, just wow. Both books really make you think about what high school was like, and I lived in the area that the book took place in and was the same age as Jessica when the book took place...so it all really hit home.

I remember reading the first. I can tell you exactly what was going on and what I was drinking while reading it. I was on a family vacation in Tahiti, my sister and I had brought 5 books each and midway through I ran out and grabbed "Sloppy firsts". I was drinking tonic water with Creme De Menthes and eating french hot dogs. Finished it in like three or four hours. "Second Helpings", I saw it at the bookstore and I bought it. My sister did the same thing on the same day. I read it at work and everyone thought I was nuts. Marcus Fluttie is the greatest shouldn't be boyfriend.
