Mrs. De Winter( Which made me ball like a baby) Rebecca's tale, or The other Rebecca (which is a more up to date version of the classic). __________________ YEA WINCEST! | Yes it's very good. It's somewhat of a mystery, set in England. It's wonderfully written. __________________ ~Shannon~ you'll take advantage til you think you're being used cos without an enemy your anger gets confused i got stuck on the side you know i never chose but it's all about taking the easy way out for you i suppose | |||

| I saw the movies a long time ago, but just recently read the book. Like most, the book was way better. It took me a little bit to get into but I'm thinking that had more to do with watching the movie first. __________________ | |||

| I love the film (1940 Hitchcock version) but have yet to read the book. It's been on my 'to read' list for so long . I've heard it draws from Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre (I can see from the plot in the film), which is great because I absolutely love Jane Eyre. Something about dark, gothic romances that just draws me in...![]() | |||

| Yeah, it does have that Jane Eyre feel to it. I'm actually going to read the book Jane Eyre now since I found out that the book was based on it. Before this, i have just read a condenced version. __________________ YEA WINCEST! I've never been perfect, but neither have you Avie by Joya | |||

| Well, I just finished it. I think having seen the movie already, I sort of missed out in the suspense of the book. But it was still an enjoyable read. I still love the storyline, and the minor changes the film made from the novel meant there were still new things to discover while reading. | |||

| Loved the original. It's a classic. I re-read it at least once a year. Daphne du Maurier is such an amazing author. My other favorite is My Cousin Rachel. But Rebecca of course is *the* classic. __________________ icon credit: dreamer1104 | |||

| Rebecca was required reading for me in the 9th grade and is one of the rare cases of me actually enjoying a book at that age. I think I had seen the movie first (on television) but it didn’t diminish the book for me. I still recommend both the book and the movie to anyone who will listen - even if they don’t like B&W movies. I haven't read any of the sequels yet. | |||

| I read this book when I was 10 years old. I found it at my grandmothers. Then I watched the Joan Fontaine movies. It just rapped in up in the idea hidden agendas. It was also the book that got me to read Jane Eyre. The most intresting and layered character was Mrs. Danvers. She was someone that you felt a little sorry for, hated and was scared of all at the same time. That is very difficult to write. | |||
