I stayed at a former teacher of mine's house for 6 days to have some R&R, her birthday is next weekend so we went to the movies 3 times, and went out to eat a few times because we got those coupons from restaurants.com it introduced us to two really good new restaurants. I had fried green tomato salad (with grilled chicken) at one and a roast beef and swiss panini at the other with a really yummy potato salad with olive oil and herbs on little red potatoes. We saw Midnight in Paris (I loved all the cameo's by the famous artists and writers, fun), Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides (I liked this one at least as much as the others, even though this was the first without orlando and keira, I did enjoy it alot.) and Larry Crowne (It was really good the characters are one of the best things about this movie, and the ensemble works really well together, and of course Julia Roberts and Tom Hanks are adorable together.)
I spend a couple of weeks every year with her usually to help her out with things (Like when she had surgery to remove the skin cancer from her cheek and then plastic surgery to fix it) or just to escape the stress of the real world! She's like my surrogate grandmother.
Anyway thats why I was missing she has a computer but we get so busy I don't get on much while I'm there. How is everyone else?

Thanks for the new thread

And welcome back, Pammie. That sounds like a great trip, and it's nice that you have some way to escape from everyday life and have some relaxation, but also to be able to help someone in the process. I hope you had a fun, relaxing trip.

TheAngel - Yeah it was a great trip, and its not too far from home in case anything comes up.

Right now I'm working on catching up on my tivo stuff being gone for a week makes the tivo stuff pile up.
I have
Nescessary Roughness
Franklin & Bash
Royal Pains
America's Got Talent
Pretty Little Liars
The Killing
Game of Thrones

and I'm watching an ep. of Camelot now. I've gotten it way down from what it was. I had like 85% of my space taken, lol.

Thanks I do love this icon, especially since I'm a book lover and a cat lover And welcome to the off-topic thread. It's a lovely place. I hope you'll become a regular.

I wish I had tivo
I don't watch many TV shows but sometimes there are things I really want to record, specials and movies and things like that, and I forget about them. If I had tivo, I could just set it and go and then watch it later. I just don't have the money for it right now. Maybe next year, though I'm hoping to go back to school for my masters, so money might actually be even more of an issue

Also, you're so lucky for being able to see Game of Thrones. I watched a couple episodes when I was at a hotel once and it looks great. I guess I'm just going to have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

TheAngel - We have Directv so we got good deals on the dvr/tivo cause we're just kind of renting them from them. Anyway I loved Game of Thrones to pieces, very good, finished the last ep. of that last night. It was really good. You should definitely check it out on dvd. The only way that I actually watch tv is recording it if I tried to watch it live I'd never see anything!

I love my tivo. I think I would be lost without it.
