ooo I liked this book. It was recommended to me by someone off here actually (struggling to remember who, so apologies).

Very good. I saw so much of myself as a obnoxious teen in there, I was physically cringing at some points

I read that book last year...My whole school was talking about it, cuz it's kind of like my school...same kind of people and it's a boarding (well, and day) school.

I really liked it though, and choose to use it as my "free choice book" for a 4th quarter english project last year.

I had to make a soundtrack of songs that summed up the book and had to give little summearies as to why I choose each one. It was pretty fun actually. lol

I know this is a book thread - but what songs did you choose?

I loved this book. I went to boarding school for two years, and I definitely saw a lot of similarities. I definitely recommend this book to anyone.

I hated this book. The main character was horrible and boring. Although it is somewhat accurate in its depiction of boarding school life, it is the cliched story.

I think more books need to be written on this subject.

I saw the setting as a combination of my private school and college put together, however I think some of the points that came across in the atmosphere of the school were slightly exaggerated - it's not how every boarding school is.

However, I definitely saw myself at some points as Lee, especially in the aftermath of her thing with Cross Sugarman. I especially remember the scene when he's playing basketball and she comes in and they have their argument. When I was young I also thought that hooking up meant you were a couple, how naive.

Really engaging read!

I loved Prep!!
I felt so embarassed for her all the time, but she totally hits the teen craziness on the head.

I also have her newer book, it's called The Man of My Dreams. It wasn't as good as Prep. But it also feels like she has the same voice. I kind of found myself thinking that this was Lee's story once she got to college.

I've heard a lot about this book. I haven't got around to getting it, though. I should do, really.

I, too, felt complete embarrassment for Lee throughout the book. Yet, in an odd way, I liked it. I bought the book because it was on sale at Heathrow airport on my stopover between Toronto and Dubai. I'm glad I did!

IA with whoever said that more books need to be written on this topic. In some parts of the world, going to boarding school is a fact of life. It's only after I moved to North America did I realize that it wasn't as widely spread as I first believed!!

Prep is one of my favorite books. I really enjoyed it a lot. I felt that I related a lot to the character Lee. I really should pick it up one of these days and read it again.
