Thanks for the introduction Tina & Hi Talkative one, Chrissalaugha, & Gabriela
My blog is fairly new, but i've been reviewing books for awhile. My reviewing kicked into high gear last spring when i started writing reviews for "The Season of Romance". A few weeks back i decided to start my own blog to share my reviews that i post on goodreads and the Season site. While i was designing the blog the song " My Little Corner of the World" by Yo La Tengo was playing in my head and thus the blog had a name. I mostly review romances (all kinds), but i do dab into YA, Sci-fi, classics, and anything-else that sounds good. Looking forward to meeting everyone here and getting myself re-acquainted with fanforum. I was a member here a few years ago, but stopped when college started ruling my life. I have since graduated and just got hired (quit literally) as a Pharmacy technician (more money for books now ^^). Melissa __________________

Oh cool that you've been a poster here for awhile I'm more Sci-Fi/YA, so should enjoy some of your reviews but not much into romance __________________

I think the reading of romance books are an acquired taste. I got into reading them merely by accident. I picked up "Anna and the Duke" by Kathryn Smith when i was 15 simply because the main male lead was named Ewan (and me being a die hard Ewan McGregor fan then... ). I didn't even noticed the book was a YA romance when i bought it. I because hooked though and devoured the rest of the Avon True Romance book series. I then moved onto adult romances. No-one in my immediate family actual read them before i did. My aunts and cousin's did so my parents never thought much of it. Only after the death of my aunt Bev (whom my mother was the closest too) did my mother actually pick up one. I think mainly to try to feel closer to Bev again. She only reads the inspirational ones though. My older sister still won't read them. She prefers action adventure, magic, and mysteries. ^^ Melissa __________________

The paranormal scene has exploded in the romance world since the twilight crap... i mean... series has come along. (Sorry i hate twilight with a passion and can't resist taking a dig anytime i mention it). I myself prefer werewolves over vampires, but i'll read a vampire book if it comes my way and sounds good. ^^ Melissa __________________

I'm just touching on the vampire genre for books cause just started to read again the last year or two so plan to read more
Don't worry I'm there on thinking this whole paranormal trend started with Twilight and don't like it cause vampires have been in for decades and I've been a fan since Buffy. Read a good amount of the books by Anne Rice back in high school. So been a paranormal fan a bit since Buffy and do like alot of it Oh really I don't mind werewolves cause Lucian is one of my favourites but am a vampire girl __________________
