Philippa Gregory
Last month I read The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory and I it. I thought she did a great job integrating the history with the fiction. Now I can't wait to read The Queen's Fool. Has anybody else read her novels? Leave your reaction here

I've seen her books in my local library and had thought about getting one and reading it, but I wasn't sure that I would like it since I'd never heard anything about it.
But if it's good, then I may just have to give it a look. __________________

The Other Boleyn Girl is fantastic! I've read a few of her other ones, The Queen's Fool and The Virgin's Lover, but I didn't like those as much as the first.
Has anyone read her Meridion series? Is that the name of the series or just one of the books? __________________

I'd love to see The Other Boleyn Girl made for television or even a full-length film.

TOBG was made for British television (BBC) as a miniseries just a year or two ago and they're actually in the process of casting for a full-length feature film with rumours of Keira Knightley playing either Anne or Mary.
I liked TOBG but haven't read too much of the rest of Gregory's work. Any recommendations? __________________

I read The Other Boleyn Girl over the summer and liked it. I'm thinking of picking up another of her books when I get the chance.

I've read The Other Boleyn Girl and saw only a bit of the tv production. I've also read The Queen's Fool. I'll have to check out The Virgin's Lover.

I've just started reading this (The Other Boleyn Girl). I feel so bad for Mary! Is anyone else reading it at the moment?

I loved it! And since I never paid attention in history I had no idea what was going to happen to everyone which made it even more exciting.
I've read the prequel abouth Katherine of Aragon and the books after the Other Boleyn Girl as well. I love how she portrays her characters. |

The Other Boleyn Girl was what got me started on Gregory's books, and since then, I've been slowly working my way through her stuff. I just finished her book on Katherine of Aragon, The Constant Princess, and I read The Boleyn Inheritance last year. I also read the Wideacre trilogy (Wideacre, The Favored Child, and Meridon), which were a bit soapier, but still really good.
One of the things that I like about her Tudor books is that you end up getting a really good picture of Henry XIII; even though there are different stories and different heroines in each book, you can see the changes in Henry over time, and how Henry's early life influenced the person he eventually became. I can definitely believe that the real Henry XIII developed much like the one in Gregory's books. Although I like all of the books, though, I think The Other Boleyn Girl still stands out as my favorite of the Tudor novels; Mary was such a sympathetic character, and I liked getting the story from someone who was kind of on the sidelines and who had a story of her own. __________________

I need to read the book because in the movie I was actually on Anne's side and Mary was just to sweet.

I LOVED the Wideacre trilogy. I'm thinking of buying it
I also loved TOBG and The Boleyn Inheritance as well, all really easy to lose yourself in quickly. __________________
