Phantom of the Opera Discussion thread

I didn't see one, so I figured that I ought to do something!

I loved the book from start to finish, and I'm one of those few who loves Christine, Raoul, and THE PHANTOM. The book was absolutely awesome, and for those of you who never read it, please do--even the 2004 remake is worth watching..

So, we're welcome to discuss the book/maybe movie too, and our differences, and even post avatars!

The movie is best--especially since it's the original (by Leroux).

And yes, the poor Phantom! Is there anyone here who likes all three of the main characters? (The Phantom, Christine, and Raoul).

Well, he did write the novel, so I would say yes.

I could not stand Roaul in the original novel. but the rest of the book was good a funny, creepy, mystery, story.

I got Susan Kay's Phantom recently and will read it soon

You didn't like Raoul, Steph?

He was a little...lovesick, though...

Awww, well if you haven't seen the '04 movie yet, I think you'll like that Raoul...he's sort of like a swashbuckling romantic hero in that one.
