| The Outsiders Appreciation I thought this was a really great book. S.E. Hinton wrote it wonderfully. __________________ "Being in front of the audience every Friday night is like crack- I mean, what I imagine crack to be like." -Topher Grace "It's magic between you and me, Max." -Conan O'Brien | |||

| Yeah I thought the movie was okay, but not near as good as the book. __________________ "Being in front of the audience every Friday night is like crack- I mean, what I imagine crack to be like." -Topher Grace "It's magic between you and me, Max." -Conan O'Brien | |||

| A friend let me borrow this book my freshman year in high school and told me I should read it... well, I finally got around to reading it about 2 years later and I absolutely fell in love with it. It was very hard to give it back to him finally lol | |||

| I love this book. It's one of the books in my life that just totally blew me away. It's funny, sad, and very powerful. I've never seen the movie. --Rachel __________________ GilmoreGirls.org Savvy? | |||

| The Outsiders is a wonderful coming of age book and it is one of my favorites. My brothers had to read this book for their classes, and it was pretty interesting the questions that they were asked to discuss in class. For instance, was Johnny's death a hero one and why? | I never read much as a kid, but this story I read in one sitting over Christmas break in 7th grade. It was the only assigned book that I actually enjoyed. If I remember correctly (it's been many moons since junior high), Johnny died as a result of trying to rescue some kids in a buring building. While he and Ponyboy may have been the cause of the fire (again, trying to wipe the cobwebs off this particular memory), his willingness to go back in to save these strangers makes him a hero, to me at least. | |||

| The Outsiders is a wonderful book. I loved it. My favorite is definitely Johnny , his death was so sad but it wasn't as moving as Dally's though. Anyway, my favorite scene would have to be the re-uniting of the Curtis family in the hospital, I that bit in the book. __________________ Calvin: "I go to school, but I never learn what I want to know." | This was my favorite book for the longest time. I was in love with Ponyboy for the longest time. I don't know if there are guys in the world like him but I can only pray there are. I remember the reason I read the book was because I saw the end of the movie on a vacation and my cousin said it was good. I was very suprised at how personal and easy to read the book was. It is also so powerful at the end, even if you've read it a hundred times. I used to attempt to write a sequal to the book and I got it started off pretty well; it was in the same sort of voice as the real book. Then I realized that no matter how good it turned out it would never surpass the original and I honestly didn't want it to. I gave up after that. __________________ "I'm just trying to be really considerate. I've never really done it before but I'm going to give it a shot. | I also had to read it for a class assignment and it was the only assigned book I liked. Everyone in my class just fell in love with it (Guys at my school even had a "rumble" after school one day, they were super obsessed) Dally was my favorite character, but I really loved all of them. __________________ "Being in front of the audience every Friday night is like crack- I mean, what I imagine crack to be like." -Topher Grace "It's magic between you and me, Max." -Conan O'Brien | |||

| Passionate Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I love The Outsider. I have an old copy that I accidentally dropped into water when I was reading it. I've probably read the book a dozen times. I just love the story and the characters. Even if you're a girl you can relate to the characters. It's all in all a good book with good solid characters. __________________ Come stop by the Books Board for a visit. 148.94 million square kilometers on the face of the Earth, and I plan on walking every single one of them! | I read it when I was 11 and I cried for days about Dallys death. Johnny died a hero, but Dally's death lacked any glamour or herorism, people would just see it as another hood getting what he deserved. That really got to me. And when he's in the hospital falling apart when faced with Johnny's death ![]() __________________ Chloe: "I can't lose you, Clark" Clark: "Chloe, I'll never leave you" | |||
