What is your preferred Narrative Mode? Do you prefer writing in first person? |

I don't think I have a favorite voice.
For the most part I'm used to first person or third person. But I can't remember, what is second person? __________________

Second person is very rarely used, it's when direct address is used such as "you" so it seems as though the writer is addressing you. Ian McEwan does it quite a bit and it makes you question whether he's talking to you or whether the persona means the you in the novel.

I prefer First Person, but I have done Third also. I think it depends on the characters and the story. What is right for the story.

If it's a big fantasy adventure would you write third person?

If the story involved many people, then maybe. If the story revolved around one character as the main focalisation then Maybe not.

I don't know what I prefer but I'm used to read almost everything in first person so it sometimes feels weird when I read something in third person.

The Japanese book is After Dark by Haruki Murakami.

First person has always been my favorite narrative.
Both writing and reading. It's always so much more personal and you can feel more for the character than if it was written in 3rd person. __________________

I don't know why I don't like it as much. To me I can't get a grip on it because sometimes it sounds poor

I guess it really depends on the author. Most frist person books i've read are awesome and i just have an easier time reading them but there are a few that i coundn't read because of the author's style of writing.

Third person
Sometimes first person can be annoying if you don't care for the character that much. Plus you get multiple points of view. __________________

I don't think I've actually read or heard anything written in that POV. The only thing with Third person POV is that sometimes, depending on the author you can get confused on the scene. And I agree about first person. It can suck if you don't like the narrator. __________________
