Nicholas Sparks #3: "Just when you think it can't get any better, it can.”- At First Sight

About the Author:

He began selling pharmaceuticals and moved from Sacramento, California to North Carolina in 1992. In 1994, at the age of 28, he wrote The Notebook over a period of six months. In October, 1995, rights to The Notebook were sold to Warner Books. It was published in October, 1996, and he followed that with Message in a Bottle (1998), A Walk to Remember (1999), The Rescue (2000), A Bend in the Road (2001), and Nights in Rodanthe (2002), The Guardian (2003), The Wedding (2003), Three Weeks with my Brother (2004), True Believer (2005) and At First Sight (2005) all with Warner Books. All were domestic and international best sellers and were translated into more than 35 languages. The movie version of Message in a Bottle was released in 1999, A Walk to Remember was released in 2002, and The Notebook was released in 2004. The average domestic box office gross per film was $56 million -- with another $100 million in DVD sales -- making the novels by Nicholas Sparks one of the most successful franchises in Hollywood.

The film rights to Nights in Rodanthe, True Believer and At First Sight have been sold, and Nicholas Sparks has written the screenplay for The Guardian, though he has not offered it for sale at this point.

He now has five children: Miles, Ryan, Landon, Lexie, and Savannah. He lives in North Carolina with his wife and children.

Welcome

Has anyone picked up 'The Longest Ride' yet?

I finally got my copy on Saturday. So far it seems like it's Sparks' longest book yet!

I am getting through 'The Last Ride' so quickly! I love how different it is from all of his other novels. Both stories in it are beautiful!

I started reading it. I need to go two Barnes and Noble many times because my liberary doesn't have it. I live in the Greensboro area and I have a friend who goes to Wake Forest so I like that he has that area in his book.
I am reading the Lucky One. It's a little different from the movie Keith is still a villain with the exception of the ending but he's sort of worse in the books because he didn't have a good relationship with his son where as in the movie in spite of Keith putting pressure on sports Ben still enjoyed spending time with him. I will say after reading Safe Haven Sparks really hates policemen whose name begin with a K.
I did think the casting was good with Thibault, Beth, and Nana

Actually, the only book I've read is "The Last Song". Hpwever, I've already seen some of the movies and I loved them incredibly much so I feel I really have to start reading, as well.

I actually haven't read the Notebook, Last Song, and a Walk to Remember cause the movies are ingrained in my head but I might soon.

I read Dear John.... i dont want to see the movie, as i think it will ruin the book for me lol

Also just heard Best of Me will be a movie... apparently with James Marsden (yay) and Michelle Monaghan - The Best of Me (2014) - IMDb

I saw Dear John. I liked it. But I think the ending was different from the book? I'm not completely sure.

Yeah the ending in Dear John is different in the movie. I like actors who play John and Savannah in the movie and I do like that they a John relationship with his Dad right but I still prefer the book. I like the movie but the book is better the ending just tugs at your heart string its like Hook in the echo caves giving something so the girl you love can be with some one else sad and sweet
