New Adult #2: a category of romance that has become quite successful over the last few years.
NEW ADULT ---- What are New Adult books? There is quite a lot I could say about what makes a book New Adult, but explained in its simplest form they are books that are about and are aimed at “new” adults. In the same way that YA books are aimed at 13 – 17 year olds (ish) NA books are aimed at readers who are roughly 18 – 25 years old. NA books are about the main character learning to be an adult. Often in books they are living away from their parents for the first time at college or they might be struggling with their first job. Are New Adult books all about sex? No. This is a common misconception people have about NA because of the way it has been portrayed by journalists. New Adult books do generally have more sex than Young Adult books but this makes sense if you think of the characters ages. 20 year olds are almost definitely going to have sex at some point, 15 year olds, not so much. Also as these books are aimed at slightly older readers authors don’t have to be scared to write sex scenes; if they feel that is where the characters are going then it will probably happen. Sex in NA books is like sex in adult books, it might happen but not be described, it might be described in detail or it might not even happen at all. I have read some NA books that are less sexual than your average YA. Are New Adult books only contemporary? No. New Adult is an age category not a genre, it can and does encompass all genres. Currently NA is completely dominated by contemporary romance, this is because it was contemporary authors such as Jamie McGuire, Tammara Webber, Abbi Glines and others who got the category well known. It is already starting to grow and there are many new and future releases that are other genres. more about NA - Read HERE NEW ADULT TITLES 01. Easy by Tammara Webber 02. Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire 03. On Dublin Street by Samantha Young 04. Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry 05. Slammed by Colleen Hoover |

I'm currently reading a adult contemporary, a Motorcycle club book. I really don't like the male very much. He is an ass.
Hopefully can finish this and move onto something else. |

Reading Neighbor Dearest. I absolutely love it.
I never wanted to read Stepbrother Dearest. Not into the whole step brother thing. But I'm sure now I don't want to read it. Elec is a douche. __________________

I totally didn't realise they were related. I've read that. Seems I loved it, now I don't know why If I had read Neighbour Dearest before Stepbrother Dearest, I probably would have had a different opinion.

I think I would hate it without reading this one.
I'm sorry making someone think you are in love with them while secretly in love with someone else is not cool. Ok I could give the benefit of the doubt and say he may of thought he was in love with Chelsea in this one she mentioned that she found a ring and knew he was about to propose. Out of sight out of mind. But doing whatever happened in the other book while still with Chelsea? And his stepsister allowing it to happen and pursuing him while she knows he has a gf that is in love with him? __________________

Yeah, That is very wrong. I had read his book 2 years ago, so obviously I didn't remember or make the connection. But I certainly didn't like him in Neighbor Dearest, that's for sure.

I read the descritption for Stepbrother dearest and seems that Chelsea was actually with him for some part of his visit back home. Which makes it worse.

It does. That had to be the worst breakup. Its one thing to break up with someone for someone else.. or whatever, but another to be with his stepsister. That does make things so much worse.

It does.
Although in the beginning of this book, she didn't find out till after the breakup that he was leaving her for someone else and it being his step sister. Although as much as it seemed like he was a douche in the beginning when it showed the breakup it did tell her he never wanted to hurt her. and later in the book they kind of run into each other (not really but they see each other) and later he sent her an e mail basically saying that all he wanted was her to be happy and he's glad she found someone. Or soemthing like that. __________________

Yeah, I remember that There is something at the end of the book also, where both of them happy with how everything ended up, even if it didn't start the way they wanted. He did never want to hurt her. But it happened, no matter the intentions.

so maybe I don't hate Elec too much now. But still he and Greta should of never let things get too far between them before he broke up with Chelsea. or once he realized those feelings were there and weren't going away should of been up front with her. I loved Damien so much. And that e mail exchange between him and Elec at the end, I loved how Elec mentioned The Omen just like Chelsea did. __________________

I loved that email part too
Yeah, Elec and Greta didn't do things the right way, unfortunately. They weren't thinking. But whats done is done now I guess. |

I love Leisa, You should read her bad Romeo series. I need to get this book for my book event, I met her once in 2015 (she's aussie, you see) and got the first 2 books signed; but need to buy Twisted Heart and this new one.
