This book is like my favorite, it was great. I read it last year, i liked how they showed us that being a geisha is not easy as some people might think, i think i'll read the book again this week since i have a lot of time for read

I'd definetely like to discuss about the book

I have never read this. I'm never seen the movie either, I don't think. I'm going to get it the next time I go to the library.

I saw the movie, but have been wanting to read the book, so this will be a great ~~motivator~~ opportunity

I'll get my book this week and we can map out a reading "schedule"

The movie isn't too different from the book? because if it's i think i won't enjoy it that much

I can't rememeber if the movie is all that different from the book. I'll have to re-read the book and watch the movie again.

I usually always love books more because of the detail they can go into. However the cinematography in the film is

I finished Twilight last night and I'm tossing up between starting The Time Travellers Wife or Memoirs of a Geisha first

I read the book litrally right before the watching the movie and i remember being really dissapointed.

I don't feel like even the characterization was the same, but some moments where shot so beautifully, it was a shame

So, today is officially the first day of the Summer Book Club

I thought we could do it over an eight week period

Here is a tentative schedule:

July 6-12: chapters 1-3

July 13-19 chapters 4-8

July 20-26 chapters 9-12

July 27-August 2 chapter 13-16

August 3-9 chapter 17-21

August 10-16 chapter 22-25

August 17-23 chapter 26-28

August 24-30 chapter 29-35

We can discuss anything in the book up to the chapter given, as we don't want to spoil people if we've read ahead.

I'll also post some discussion questions along the way.

I started reading it today!

I'm just 2 chapters in but I'm really liking it so far.

I read this book a few years back and loved it. I haven't watched the movie yet because I heard it wasn't a great adaptation from the book.
