| Loung Ung Appreciation thread!!
Anybody else read FIRST THEY KILLED MY FATHER and her sequal LUCKY CHILD? I was glued to her story. She has gone through soooo much. If you haven't read these books I strongly recommend. FIRST THEY is about all she went through as a little girl in Cambodia during the Khmer Rouge genocide of the early '70s. LUCKY CHILD talks about her adjustment to life and culture here in the states afterward and also about those left behind in Cambodia.
These books together are a fascinating and touching TRUE STORY that will sadden and anger you. They will also make you appreciate life and all that you have. |
