The Last Summer (of You and Me) by Ann Brashares #1 Because it's a beautiful story
I love this book and was interested to know if others did.

I read this book a while back and loved it. It's really different from her Sisterhood of the traveling pants books. I loved the storyline.

I read this a few months ago and loved it too. I had heard mixed reviews but I knew it'd be more adult than her Traveling Pants series. I think mainly because I was around the same age as the characters but I related to so much of it and just absolutely adored it. It's one of my favorite books now. It had so many good lines and such a good story line.

I have this book a while ago. It's been so long. It's definitely a lot different than the Sisterhood of the travelling pants.

The first chapter I found to be slow, and I actually thought about not even continuing with it. But I'm so glad I did. Since then, I've re-read it twice. All of the relationships are interesting and relatable.

Oh it really is a beautiful book. I think my favorite part is her explaining why she had set it up (to where she's waiting on Paul) because she was always waiting. I don't know it was just really lovely.

Ain't there just something so poetic about waiting?!

I agree totally, the waiting was so beautiful and romantic. I just read this in December but I'd love to re-read it soon lol.

It is sort of torturous to read in the winter... when you're reading the book, you're so into that feeling of summer. Coming out of it is rather depressing!

I know, and it was such an awful wintry day the days I read it (snow and brutal winds). I've been ready for spring and warmer weather since I read it! What did you especially like about the book Nikita?

Winter can leave!
Good question. I like how its more about relationships than a specific story. I found it easy to relate to, particularly to Riley's character. You? __________________

I liked the relationships aspect of it too, everyone has at least a bit of complication with another character it seemed like. I related a lot to characters too, I think mainly because of our ages. I really related to Alice though, we had a lot in common personality wise.
ETA: I just read that the rights to make this into a movie have been bought by Warner Brothers and Ann Brashares is going to be one of the executive producers. That gives me hope that it will be great. __________________

Its nice when you can actually relate to a character.
Hopefully they don't butcher it! Now I'm all wondering who will play who. __________________

I hope they don't mess things up either. They did fairly good with the two Traveling Pants books though. I'll definitely have to re-read now so I can pick out some ideas for who should play everyone.

Hmm did they say when they were going to start production? My biggest fear is that they make it a triangle when it clearly was very far from that.
