Judy Blume appreciation

This is to discuss Judy Blume and her novels:

The One in the Middle is the Green Kangaroo
Iggie's House
Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret
Then Again, Maybe I Won't
Freckle Juice
It's Not the End of the World
Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing
Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great
Deenie
Blubber
Forever
Starring Sally J. Freedman as Herself
Wifey
Superfudge
Tiger Eyes
The Judy Blume Diary
Smart Women
The Pain and the Great One
Letters to Judy: WHat Kids Wish They Could Tell You
Just As Long As We're Together
The Judy Blume Memory Book
Fudge-A-Mania
Here's to You, Rachel Robinson
Summer Sisters
Places I Never Meant to Be

Summer sisters was my favorite book. I also liked Starring Sally J. Freedman as herslef. All of her books were really good. I remember reading Tales of a Fourth Grade nothing a long time ago and felt so bad when Fudge ate Peters(?) turtle.

I loved reading Judy Blume's books as I was growing up. Particularly: Tiger eyes, Are you there God?..., and Letters to Judy..., and Forever.

Not only good stories, but really good, informative books for girls growing up

I agree, Blume's books (along with Norma Klein's) helped me a lot when I was growing up and her characters felt like friends.

Sawyer said Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret was "predictable" and didn't have enough sex. Snort!

Sorry, Lost reference there.

I loved Judy Blume's young adult novels. They were so helpful growing up.

I also loved Judy Blume's adult novels as well - Wifey (which was shocking to me that Judy Blume wrote it), and Summer Sisters.

I thought I'd read most of her books, but looking at that list.. no. *rushes to look for the others*

My favorite would definitely be the Fudge series. And Starring Sally J. ... is such a wonderfully beautiful book.

For two years, all I would read was Judy Blume books.

Wifey? Hadn't seen that one, will kepp my eye out.

I did read Summer Sisters (just last year in fact - we have a charity book shelf at work and so I paid 10p for it!). I'll be honest and say my memories of Judy Blume books from when I was younger seemed better to me than Summer Sisters. Just IMO

I read a few of Blume's books, but by the time her series was in my school library I was a bit ahead of them and I think I was reading War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells and things like that. But in general, I liked what I read. I know I read Freckle Juice and a few others.

My class reads Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing ever year and love it! I can't tell you how many of my kids go on to read her other novels, including the Fudge series.

I'm feeling nostalgic and am going to have to start looking for her books again so i can catch up. Sometimes I feel strange being 26 and reading kiddie books!

I'm 28 - and reading Enid Blyton and Anne of Green Gables again. Sometimes it's good to relive childhood

Love, love, love Judy Blume. My favorites are the Fudge series, Sheila the Great, Are you there God, and Blubber. There were characters in each book I could relate to. Judy Blume is an absolute prize.
