Janet Evanovich and our favorite comic heroine are back!

I could have sworn that there was a Janet Evanovich/Stephanie Plum thread around here all ready, but I just can't seem to find it. Anywho... Book 10 is out. Ten Big Ones is the title. I love Evanovich. This book was good, maybe not her best in the series (what with 10 in the series she'd have to pull supertrump to beat what she's already got out there), but definitely good. If you're a fan you want to check it out. Has anybody else read it yet?

There was a thread about the Stephanie Plum series, but I think the thread's gone with the last pruning.

Oooh, I can't wait for book number ten. Have you read it already? Was it good (need I ask?)?

I've read all the nine previous books, and I've loved them all. Very funny, exciting and, let's face it, weird at times.

Favourite characters: Lula, Morelli, Ranger and, of course, Stephanie.

I've only read the first 3 books so far since I've had a difficult time finding a new or used copy of Four to Score locally and I've got so many other books on my TBR list. I do like the characters and stories and will eventually obtain the elusive book. Actually, I saw a copy the other day but it was a signed hardcover first edition for $40. Not in the budget right now. Maybe I should dust off my library card...

I just started reading my first book, Ten Big Ones. So far I am enjoying it greatly and will probably check out other books in the series.

In this one, besides Stephanie, Grandma Mazur, Lula and even Sally are hilarious. I'm only a efw chapters in, so I don't know what other characters I'll meet.

I took a year-long break from this series. It wasn't intentional...I just got wrapped up trying to get through my other books. Anyway, I'm reading Seven UP right now. I won't be buying Ten Big Ones anytime soon since I still need to read #8 & #9.

aikakone - please tell me I'm misreading your post. You're not really starting with the 10th book in the series are you? If you are, please put it down and go find and read books 1-9 first. I've started in the middle of a series before (Patrica Cornwell's Scarpetta novels), and although I lived to tell the tale, I have vowed never to do that again and to always enlighten those I find in the same situation.

Yes, I've got the 10th book, and even though it's the most current book in the series, I am enjoying it. Let me put it this way, I will in all likelihood go find the other books.

People Suck. - I had the same problem for awhile. If you are comfortable using the Barnes & Noble or Amazon online stores, they both have new and used copies of Four to Score. So does ebay.

I agree with dukesmom that these books should be read in order. You need to watch the relationships between the characters develop.

I liked #10 a lot. I love them all but I thought it was better than 8 and 9.

I own the Janet Evanovich fanlisting and could use more members if anyone wants to join.

A co-worker saw me reading Four To Score the other day and mentioned that at his previous place of employment, all the female staffers were practically obsessed with Evanovich's books. I usually avoid reading this series at work since I always end up laughing out loud. Not something usually appreciated at a law firm.

I started reading the Stephanie Plum books a few months ago. I read through the entire series in a week, and now I'm reading through them all for the third time. They're so wonderful. Joe Morelli is my man. I can't wait for book eleven.

Has anyone read Hard Eight by Janet Evanovich? Or any other books by her? I'm read Hard Eight right now.

I love the Plum books!! I'm more of a Ranger girl myself

Book 11 coming out June 21st!! it is going to be called 11 On Top

From B&N.com

Quote:
America's favorite bounty hunter, Stephanie Plum, is back in her eleventh adventure. Trouble seems to find Stephanie no matter where she goes, and once again she's struggling with her tangled love life, her chaotic family, and her God-given gift for destroying every car she drives. This time, Stephanie Plum has decided to quit her job as a bounty hunter. She wants something safe. She wants something normal. She's tired of creeps, weirdos, and stalkers. But just when she thinks she's out, they pull her back in! This latest novel is packed full of Janet Evanovich's trademark wit, adventure, and sly comedy. So fasten your seatbelt and hang on—Stephanie's back in town!
