That's one of her best.

It's been ages since I've read her works. I've read the "big 3": Emma, Sense and Sensability, and P and P

Pride and Prejudice is my favorite!! But Emma comes in a close second. She's an amazing author.

It's been a while since I've been here but I wanted to say that I managed to make my way through Mansfield Park and I'm now in the midst of reading Emma.

I've had a lot of personal stuff to deal with this past month so I've been reading more slowly than I wanted to but I managed to finish Emma and I'm now onto Northanger Abbey.

So far, my preference order of the novels goes like this:

1) Pride & Prejudice
2) Emma
3) Sense & Sensibility
4) Mansfield Park

From what I know of all the Jane Austen movies I've seen, I can't wait to get into Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. My movie preference order goes like this:

1) Pride & Prejudice (1995)
2) Persuasion (2007)
3) Northanger Abbey (2007)
4) Emma (1996) / Emma (2009)
5) Sense & Sensibility (1995) / Sense & Sensibility (2008)
6) Mansfield Park (any version really)

The Pride and Prejudice from 95 is great, haven't had a chance to see any of the others.

I haven't seen that one, but I did see the Keira Knightley, which I was pleasantly surprised with

I really liked this version but my mom loves the BBC miniseries, so I think it depends on whether you like more contemporary or classical. And the BBC miniseries also had more length to work with so it stayed much more true to the story.

I haven't read all of her books yet, but right now Pride and Prejudice is my favourite. I loved both versions they filmed though. They stayed more true to the book in the 1995 version. But I thought that Keira and Matthew were perfect for their roles.

Actually, so far, Emma is the only book of hers that I've read all the way though, and I want to read it again. I had to read it for a literary theory class I was taking in college, and while it was really interesting, I'd love to read it just for fun at my own pace. I'm going to make a New Year's resolution to read all of Jane Austen's books next year because I've been wanting to for ages.

Sounds Like a good resolution. There are so many books I want to read, and Jane Austen's work is on the list as well. But I don't have a lot of time. Maybe I'll have more time next year.

I'm hoping to get through all of her books this year, I've read most of them, but it's been ages since I have. P&P is the next book I plan on reading when I finished with the one I have.

Pride and Prejudice is my favourite. I love the 2005 movie version. While it couldn't have all the nuances and happenings of the book, it was a very beautiful movie. One of my favourites from the movie was when Darcy proposed the first time he did it outside, during the rain, in the temple of Apollo, which made the scene so visually beautiful and Lizzie and Darcy were sooo delicious.

^I love that scene. It's one of my favourites. And Keira Knightley and Matthew MacFadyen were perfect.
