Well, just picked up the Insider's Guide. A fun book so far. I enjoyed the short story of Bella and Z. Rounded out their relationship very nicely. Haven't read the whole thing but did skip to the sneak peak of Rehvenge's book. I was disappointed that it was soooo short b/c I was kinda looking for more than just a tease. But I'll take Rehv anyway I can get him

I don't think you need to spoiler-tag John's identity, I think it's supposed to be pretty obvious and she talks about it freely in the Insider's Guide
About the Guide, I've only read the story so far, which is so adorable!! I'm so glad she decided to write it about Z/B, I think she recognises that they are her best couple. I haven't read the sneak peak yet - does it say who Rehv's love interest is? I'm curious. BTW, who do you think John's will be? I hope it's not that girl who works for Rehv - I don't like her. __________________

Yeah, she is introduced briefly. I had guessed who she would be from "Lover Enshrined" and I'm pretty sure I'm right. Don't know if I can wait until it comes out next year! And yep, I would bet that it is going to be Xzex... Sxex... however you spell her name. And actually I really like her. She is confident, strong and can kick butt! I think the brotherhood need some one like her to shake things up. Besides Rehv's book, I'm really interested in Payne's story. Though I think that one will be a while yet. __________________

Oh V is my fav brother! I really hated how Jane ended up but Ehhh you can't win um all. The cover of Rehv's book in up on Amazon.com now so you can take a lookie.
I really wasn't a big fan of LE because the Wizzard was driving me nuts I just started skipping the lines that had anything to do with him "talking". I also just went back and re-read the series but being the line jumper I am I skipped the Lesser parts so I could get to the lovin faster lol. I can't wait for John's book but if they do have him with Xhex (sp?) I just hope Ward gets into more detail on what she looks like because I just re-read the books and I just can't figure it out in my head? She has a man's body and little chest with a man's haircut. __________________

I have read every single novel in this series and I enjoyed them all. My favourite has to be Lover Awakened followed by Lover Revealed. These novels are more twisted and broody but offer a lot of humour as well.
They feel like a darker Dark-Hunters series to me The next book is going to be Lover Avenged which will be released in April Did anyone read Dead After Dark? I wonder if JR is going to incorporate the novella into the series? __________________

J.R. Ward - The Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #1 - "Deliciously edgy, erotic and thrilling"
The Black Dagger Brotherhood In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly turf war going on between vampires and their slayers. There also exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Among them, none relishes killing their enemies more than Wrath, the leader of the Black Dagger Brotherhood... The only purebred vampire left on the planet, Wrath has a score to settle with the slayers who murdered his parents centuries ago. But when one of his most trusted fighters is killed- orphaning a half-breed daughter unaware of her heritage or her fate - Wrath must usher the beautiful female into the world of the undead… Racked by a restlessness in her body that wasn't there before, Beth Randall is helpless against the dangerously sexy man who comes to her at night with shadows in his eyes. His tales of brotherhood and blood frighten her. But his touch ignites a dawning hunger that threatens to consume them both… Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites. He’s the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover—for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin. Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. Mary Luce, a survivor of many hardships, is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world and reliant on Rhage’s protection. With a life-threatening curse of her own, Mary is not looking for love. Her faith in miracles was lost years ago. But when Rhage’s intense animal attraction turns into something more emotional, he knows that he must make Mary his alone. And while their enemies close in, Mary fights desperately to gain life eternal with the one she loves… A former blood slave, the vampire Zsadist still bears the scars from a past filled with suffering and humiliation. Renowned for his unquenchable fury and sinister deeds, he is a savage feared by humans and vampires alike. Anger is his only companion, and terror is his only passion—until he rescues a beautiful aristocrat from the evil Lessening Society. Bella is instantly entranced by the seething power Zsadist possesses. But even as their desire for one another begins to overtake them both, Zsadist’s thirst for vengeance against Bella’s tormentors drives him to the brink of madness. Now, Bella must help her lover overcome the wounds of his tortured past, and find a future with her… Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard living, ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world- to engage in the turf war with the lessers. He's got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. If he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers... Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, found by a miracle, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him... Ruthless and brilliant, Vishous son of the Bloodletter possesses a destructive curse and a frightening ability to see the future. As a pretrans growing up in his father's war camp, he was tormented and abused. As a member of the Brotherhood, he has no interest in love or emotion, only the battle with the Lessening Society. But when a mortal injury puts him in the care of a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb compels him to reveal his inner pain and taste true pleasure for the first time- until a destiny he didn't choose takes him into a future that cannot include her. Fiercely loyal to the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Phury has sacrificed himself for the good of the race, becoming the male responsible for keeping the Brotherhood's bloodlines alive. As Primale of the Chosen, he is to father the sons and daughters who will ensure that the traditions of the race survive and that there are warriors to fight those who want all vampires extinguished. As his first mate, the Chosen Cormia wants to win not only his body but his heart for herself- she sees the emotionally scarred male behind all his noble responsibility. But while the war with the Lessening Society grows more grim, and tragedy looms over the Brotherhood's mansion, Phury must decide between duty and love. Coming April 2009 Caldwell, NY, has long been the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and owner of a notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and leader of the Brotherhood. Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though his sister is married to a member. Because he’s a symphath, his identity is a deadly secret- the revelation of which will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. And as plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in a darkening world- Ehlena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him- and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction. __________________

The cover for the new book is beautiful! I adore the black/white/red combination.
My favourite book is Lover Awakened. I also adore the Z/B short story __________________
