To me, having her play both of them like that would be less confusing than just hearing her voice.

One of the reasons I didn't mind the casting of Saoirse it's because the dual character is very complicated and it can come across like IDK schizophrenic, and yes I agree, so for me acting > looks. Just having a voice over telling Mel what to do it's just too weird and not ~visual enough for a movie adaptation imo, so I like the idea of the Edward like illusion.

I've never seen her in anything so I'm open on the casting issue.

I've only seen her in the Lovely Bones, and she can definitely act

I've heard good things about her so that's promising.
It wasn't like when I heard about the casting of Katniss in The Hunger Games. My jaw hit the floor cause I didn't think Jennifer would make a good Katniss. I finally saw her in X-Men and decided she had the chops to pull it off. Now I'm excited to see her in the role. __________________

Yeah. I know alot of people were skeptical about her for Katiss, but no doubt she will be doing an awesome job after that preview.
I guess, sometimes you just gotta trust the studio/writers/network people to know what they are doing. |

That's true, but also there are times when they can be oh so wrong.

That's also true. Sometimes it's a hit, and sometimes it's a miss. You just can't predict it until you see evidence for yourself.

Nope, but I think we might have lucked out with Saoirse, she looks very promising. I'm also excited about Max Irons. I really liked him in Red Riding Hood and can totally see him as Jared. I am still iffy on Jake Able, just because I've only seen him play bad guys and he has that look to him for me.

I was skeptical on THG casting too, but I have to admit the trailer looks wayyy better than I initially thought it'd be. It may be the same for this movie! But I kind of like the casting, so we'll see!
Jen, can you add me to the fan list pease? I love both Max and Jake, but IA about seeing Jake in bad guy roles, so that's why I thought he'd be a better Jared maybe? But I'm sure Max can pull off the stone cold thing. Cause Max was the nice guy on riding hood so that's why I can see him better as a nice guy (Ian). But, actors need flexibility in their roles I guess so they're not typecast. It should be interesting to see! |

I think they're expecting Max to be the RPattz of the movie from everything I've read, they're grooming him to be the big heartthrob.

Who's grooming him? I think they do look similar. I have seen Max fan cast in pretty much every YA novel LOL.
I've only seen Max in the Red Riding Hood movie and it was oh-so-bad but to be fair, with that dialogue nobody was safe, even Gary Oldman with his PURPLE suit. |
