S1 wasn't bad but S2 is just distasterous. It makes me want to seriously! However I think S1 and the books are kinda similar because Josh made a point to keep them similar & now s2 is just like a disgrace or something because it is ALL over the place (NB, NV, NJ, N-random person, DS, SA, CB, BLM)...just crazy

IKR? the characters are just "out of character." I even heard about Dan hooking up with that teacher.. gross.

There are some changes on the show I like(d) but there also some things that were changed and it pissed me off.

I'm really glad that BN aren't the couple they were in the books because they are really boring on the show and they are not what they were in the books (my OTP ). I also like that I've got Chuck/Blair, they are an awesome pairing on the show (ok now the writers screw with us and their story lines...) but would have never worked in the books. I also liked the idea of Lily/Rufus in season 1 but that was pretty much destroyed in season 2.

What I don't like:

- Serena being such an innocent girl who wants to redeem herself every episode...the book!Serena didn't really feel guilty about what she has done...they've made her too perfect and too caring in the show.
- Dan/Serena...they are trying to sell them as epic...they should have stuck to the book on that one.
- Vanessa! They've destroyed her...besides Blair she was my favourite character in the books...on the show they use her as plot device...
- Seren'a brother...was it really necessary to change his age?

Pey, I think that is really interesting you say that about NB because as a huge NB-book fan, I did not side with CB. I know a lot of NB-book fans did but I was not one of them. In fact I have trouble warming up to CB!!

I also agree that Serena's brother Eric's age should have stayed the same. He was 23 and hot in the books and now in the show he is gay (LOL I guess they switched Eric with Chuck from the books lol)...

And yes Serena should have stayed Partygirl Serena. I thought she was funny in the books as a party hard, ditzy ditz. LOL now she is too innocent in the show and it seems like Blair is the total bitch and Serena is the goody two shoes.. ugh not true!!

And yes-- Vanessa!!! V was my favorite character next to Blair in the books and I loved how unique she was. Shaved head, interested in the arts, not at all like everyone else. But now in the show she is just a freakin' plot device and it makes me so upset. Her & Dan in the books were meant to be you know you love it lol

I prefer book Vanessa to TV Vanessa. I loved her personality and her friendship with Blair. Also, I loved the BNS triangle in the books but I wanted BN to stay together!

I agree, Bumbleee92. I love Vanessa in the books; she is one of my favorite characters! What they did to her AWESOME character in the television show is very very upsetting...

Blaaron should have definitely happened in the books.

I can't believe they were trying to turn the books into one movie. That totally wouldn't have worked, especially with Lindsay Lohan playing Blair.

I do enjoy the books more than the TV series, mainly because of the things that aren't allowed on a TV-14 program. I loved Nate/pot (funny about Chace, eh?) and the whole Viagra situation.

Coffee/Dan/cigarettes was also a great love triangle.

Blair and Dan are both wicked in the books and the series. Everyone else is just . I like Blake as Serena though, but I can't stand the character. Jenny is just plain annoying no matter how you look at it.

I'm disappointed that Vanessa, Erik, Aaron and Rufus look nothing like how they are described in the books. I'm fairly happy with the acting, but I loved those characters exactly how they were in the books.

Although he's still...Chuck, I'm glad he's a bigger part of the TV series. It just wouldn't be the same without him.

As far as NB and DV in the TV series...they ruined them so I can't ship them. If they'd had any respect for the true love, they would have the love stories they had in the books. I just go with who has chemistry. I think CB, DS and NS work much better.

So come on guys, let's kill this thread! I can't believe there's only one!

i never really liked book vanessa much or dan/vanessa. i dunno, they were too weird to me.

i was a serena/dan fan right from the beginning. i also liked nate/serena at first, then started to dislike them and nate/blair def. grew on me near the ned, but i actually liked him with jenny in the last book.

blair was probably my favorite but i loved jenny too, i was happy she got her own series.
