Lizzi - Horray you resurrected us!

I hope Rachel finally got her copy and Precious you really need to get a hold of a copy! A suggestion is if there are any used book stores in town put your name down on a waiting list. Of course the Library but it may be constantly out and lets see audio books? Hopefully like my story you will nag someone to death until they lend it to you.

I was lucky and i had a friend purchase the book and i bugged her until she brought it in. I should say Nagged because we have been swapping books for about a year. She read it and was raving about how good it was she sent me an excerpt i think she found on Amazon.com and i was HELLO when can i borrow.

Lizzi you mentioned that you finally got the signifigance of the house charm bracelet that was on the cover. I had to sit and talk to the owner of the book. She felt it was significant as far as most of the story was dealing with the occupants of both Susan and Mr Harvey houses. WHEN you mentioned the charm bracelet i was thinking well it was a major clue that Susie wanted someone to discover..... then i saw the book cover and had to rethink my ideas.

Not only did I get it, but I finished it last week! I loved it. It was painful to read at times, but I was still enthralled with it. Beautiful and sad.

I kept thinking it was going to be the way Mr Harvey would trip up. Or maybe i was expecting Susie transcend Heaven and have Ruth find it or her sister Lyndsey.

RACHEL i am so happy you got your copy! I sent that same excerpt to some friends at work who have read other books that we passed around...but most when they read that its about a young girls murder..it stops them because they feel that like with all the news lately or when i was reading this at least so many young children were missing. I wish they would continue reading the insightful information about how Susie is watching from above to see how her family has to learn to cope and even SUSIE's journey in Heaven.

This is one of the best books i have read in ages. & Yes it was hard to read at times when you wanted to strangle someone (Susie's mother) or you wanted to help Lyndsey hear what was happening outside instead of continuing on even though she did get away.

i was hoping someone would find it that knew what it ment, i liked who found it though and how Len gave it back to Susie's dad even though it still was evidence. I was thinking about who might play the characters for a movie, and i still have not come up with someone to play the mother, have you Dommie?

to everyone who does not own the book you can buy it at Costco or at least mine, i saw it there today.

Well, I started the book but didn't have a chance to finish it before I had to return it to the library. They wouldn't let me renew it because the waiting list is so long. From what I read, it's the best book I've read in awhile. It's heartwrenching and I just loved it. I keep picturing it as a movie, but I'm not sure who I'd pick to play the parts. I'm not sure what I think about the significance of the charm bracelet either. I think I need to finish the book first. Hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on a copy soon but with school who knows.

I just finished the book and I thought it was amazing- so sad and heartbreaking. It was unlike any book I'd ever read before. The scene when Susie changed bodies with Ruth weirded me out a bit though.

Hi ok i am so glad that i wasn't the only one that found Susie taking over Ruth's body strange. I understand her wanting to reach out and touch someone but it still was extremely strange for her and i felt bad for Ray - afterall he will go on living. Sure as a doctor and a scientist this knowledge could instill in him to treat his patients who aren't alert and conscious with more care but WHAT about his heart. What about his connecting with a human being and finding love. I felt like it wouldn't ever happen for him after this....

Lizzi i was thinking that if Susan Sarandan was the cast as Susie's mom that wouldn't be bad after all. I did rethink of Michelle Pfieffer because even though i have seen her act cold and distant in the movies {i can't remember the name of that movie where she played a mother of a child abuducted only to find him later when he was 12 - Jonathan Jackson -the old Lucky played her eldest son) i don't think it would be easy to cast a woman who could carry off being her mother - whereas Susan i could see Shirley McClaine.
