I think Holes was the first actual novel I really read on my own. And I was obsessed with it right before I got into Harry Potter. Otherwise it would've been an assortment of children's books but I have no idea which would've been the first.

I can't believe I remember this, probably because the story was so cute, but the first book I read was A Bargain for Frances . Did anyone read that?
I can't remember the first novel I read. __________________

I don't remember, but I think it might have been Heidi.

I think the first book I was obsessed with in my life was a picture book called "Three Little Kittens" (who lost their mittens and couldn't have any pie!)
The first series I read on my own were a few "Trixie Beldon" mystery books during second grade. My first chapter book was probably "Ribsy" by Beverly Cleary __________________
