I like the movies more than the books. Writing is a bit thing for me, so since I couldn't get through the narrative of the story, the movies I felt were more my thing.

I have read a better series similar of the books...but yeah, the book wasn't the best written.

Did you read the ones from his perspective?

Maybe the flow was just better for you in the film version.

I've re-read them like twice now, and I enjoy them.

I read both Grey and Darker.

I agree with you both that the writing is not the strongest but it's simplistic and enjoyable to me.
