I had saw that.
I wasn't saying that it doesn't work. It works. But a lot of people don't like reading romance because of instant falling in love. I like reading drawn out romance. Watching them fall in love over time. __________________

I know. I prefer it this way too. I guess it depends on the story, and what works and what doesn't for it specifically.

Started on Burned but haven't gotten very much into it.
This has been weighing on my mind for a while. Does anyone else that some of the fans especially the ones on the fb groups are a little too much and too obsessed? urging others to write reviews which ok that's good but because there's negative reviews out. Which we all know that people rate things without reading them. Like because of the whole narrator of the audio books some were upset over that and rate things low. I remember reading someone's comment about someone give the book 3 stars. Karen doesn't write 3 star books, without reading it I know it's 5 stars. That's great and I feel that way too. But not everyone feels that way. There are tons of people who don't like the books or the series. 3 stars...yes I really feel like some can rate these books that low. That's their opinion and tastes. __________________

I agree with you, but I think right now, given.. everything that's happening it's best to get the focus book on her books and away from the negativity.
But otherwise, yes, it's not everyone's cup of tea, and so not everyone will like every book she writes. That's not her, that's just an individual opinion. |

So, this quote had me stumped upon reading it as well until I read it outloud to my dh and then I got it ( I think). Dancer is discussed in the past tense of when she was the 14 year old MEGA ("she'd felt safe") whereas Ryodan is discussed in the present tense in her current age and maturity ("makes her feel safe"). When read in that context, it really adds a depth to her relationship with Ryodan it seems. Last edited by Mon_Ami; 01-24-2016 at 05:18 PM |

I think that's a very good theory and could be on the mark
That's true, some of them are over the top and can get a bit much sometimes. |

Almost finished re reading Burned. I forgot that Ryodan knew about Jada. Wonder why she's acting like she doesn't know what he's talking about. Am I the only one that was disappointed that one of the new Sidhe seers could also track the book? __________________

I don't like the new sidhe-seers, they think they are better than everyone else because they can track the book.
Yeah, I didn't like the fact they can track the book. I liked that quality be a Mac thing. I wonder.. since Mac has a version of the book inside her; whether she can walk through the shades, because they are just a version of an unseelie the UK created. |

i read through the last thread to re-read my comments on the last book and refresh my memory of what happened. i really didnt like it. i remember now there wasnt enough mac/jericho for me, i didnt love invisable!mac or the jada/dani connection either. but I'm hoping i like this book better.
I've only read 35 pages. I'm gonna try to at the VERY LEAST do a chapter a day, but Im sure i will go quicker once i get more into the story. i will say though i love this series, its truly my favorite book series after harry potter i think. it just gives me all the feels. __________________

I think you'll like Feverborn a lot more. There is more Mac/Barrons, and Jada, you will like more. Interesting reveals.

I know no matter what she does there are going to be people who complained.
There were those who complained when it was originally suppose to be 3 Dani books. Then when Karen realized it wasn't going to work like that and combined those 3 and the 2 Mac books into 4 and put Mac back into the main POV for Burned people complained about that too saying it's suppose to be a Dani book. Honestly I was glad to be back in Mac's head. I like Mac. Until I started reading reviews I didn't realized how many people didn't like Mac. Which I don't understand if they didn't like her why did they continued with the series. Don't get me wrong I like Dani. But she's very annoying. I know some love the fact that Dani is like she is and very cocky and wants to be a superhero. That's what I don't like. She's not invincible and Dani should know that. And I don't know why but I get annoyed by her and people calling her The Mega or Mega. I still want to know more about Jada. I feel like she's so much more than just another personality or fragment. Jada took over when Dani went into Faery and spent 5 1/2 years in there. I feel like Jada knows more and is more powerful than just be stuck in Faery for almost 6 years. That's a lot of information. has there been any consistency for time lost in Faery? Dani/Jada was in there for a month and lost 5 1/2 years. In BF Mac spent the day/afternoon in there and lost a month. Those are the only 2 times I can remember the time frames off the top of my head. __________________

I always assumed everyone liked Mac. I never realize there were people that didn't until after Iced. I too prefer Mac and like being in her head. Dani, sure, I liked her, but she could get very annoying at times.
Christian was in Faery for a few months, but I think for him it was longer? In Feverborn you see that Jada.. she isn't just an ego of Dani. We see of what happened a bit when Dani gets to faery and some things she went through. |
