No worries.

Its a good read, and explains why she began with standalone, and then went slowly into the mythology and the keltars later on. She had more freedom to do so.

I agree. And probably something I should have thought of from the beginning. There was a lot of bts stuff we really didn't know (until the book) was happening.

I remember before Shadowfever Karen made a comment that there was a huge clue in book 7 of Highlander (blanking on the name).

Spell of the Highlander?

In regards to the queen talking about her needing the 5 druids? To help fix the world, or something?

Finished the thrd one. Not sure if it's just me but re reading I've noticed a huge writing difference between the first two books and the third one.

Interesting though being bored I was looking up Pict and it said they would have divided kingdoms and showed a map with the names. One of the names were Circenn.

Didn't she released a timeline of the highlander books? Doesn't the third one take place before the first two?

What kind of writing difference? I haven't read them in a while so not sure.

Oh I would love to see a timeline.

I thought so too. I think with the 3rd, is when she began to really start with the whole mythology stuff, time travel, and her writing matured and started leaving just pure romance and entered a territory of some depth.

I'll have to see if I can find the timeline, but yes, you are correct, Touch of the highlander was in the 1300's? where Hawk's book and the 2nd were in the 15th century? I remember hawk talking about 500 years in the future Adrienne had come from.

Your memory is amazing. I really need to do a reread. Though I'll wait until I'm done with TFS.

I remember in Hawk's it was mentioned Adrienne was from 500 years in the future. The third book it said that Lisa went back 700 years and that was the 14th century. I started the 4th and it's mentioned that it's the 16th century. I can easily go back look at the date for Hawk's.

But Adam made a comment about Hawk in the 3rd book. But that could be easily explained as Adam traveling between the centuries. I've started to noticed connections in all of them. In the third book some of his trusted friends last name is Douglas (Hawk's last name) and mention of fighting with some berskers with Grimm's last name. Also Gwen made a comment about a show or something entertaining called Ladyhawk. Also Drustun before he realized how different the century is made a comment about how villages being near Brodie's land and how he wouldn't like that because he's a private man.

I think I know another reason why I don't enjoy Grimm's story as much. In other series like LotU I don't particularly care for stories where the 2 know each other before.

Yeah. Sometimes the story can work if they know each other, but it is preferably better when they don't, so they can start from scratch.

Just finished my re-read of Dreamfever. Vlane makes me sick all his denials and blaming someone else for Mac's rape. How he fooled us all.

That was one of the biggest shocks.

I forgot how much I love the McKeltars.

Yes, they are wonderful!

No, I don't think anyone saw that coming. I doubt it was a theory amongst fans. Like who would have guessed that!

I think I should of start my re read early. Just realized High Voltage comes out in 5 weeks and I still have half the Highlanders and all of Fever.

Started The Dark Highlander last night and pretty much skimmed a lot of it. I don't enjoy it as much as Drustan's story.

No? Any reason why you don't like Dageus's story as much as Drustan's?

Is Dreamfever the 5th book?

I really loved both their books.
