Wow, this is hard! I'm going to have to list series to get them all.

1) Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card
2) The Harry Potter Series (Book VII or V if I have to pick) - JK Rowling
3) The Bellgariad/Mallorian Series (Seeress of Kell if I have to choose 1) - David Eddings.

I also really liked Johnny Tremain and Snow Treasure from childhood reading. If I want to pick a more traditional choice, I would have to say the Secret Garden by (can't remember the author) or Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare.
