the short stories take place within the series. Don't think there is anything about their life as mortals. Can't remember if Cam's book has anything.

It was alright. It was only a two book series. I wouldn't say it was dark, no more than Fallen. it was different.

I had read the book a while back I found the movie on Netflix was weird not at all what I was expecting which was another teen angst love story.

Yes and her friend Penn died well was murdered plus Trevor died in a fire and another dude before she moved schools

Yes it was it was never clear how the fires actually started but yes Penn getting murdered was sad.
