| Do you hold book lists? As much as I keep on here a list of books I've read in the last 6 months, I also have a list of books next to my bed (full of recommendations, and books that 'look' interesting!), of which I hope to read in the future. I thought I'd list them here and enable others to list away too. I'd be interested in any further recommendations and opinions on the books on my list! I'm sure I'll also be adding more as I go along ![]() 1) The Sea - John Banville 2) Atonement - Ian McEwan 3) Eat, Pray, Love - Elizabeth Gilbert 4) Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez 5) Five People you Meet in Heaven - Mitch Albom 6) The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand __________________ I think the world may just surprise you yet. I may have tons of books I want to read, which I do, but I just walk by my shelves when I'm looking for a new book and pull down whatever seems interesting. __________________ Come stop by the Books Board for a visit. 148.94 million square kilometers on the face of the Earth, and I plan on walking every single one of them! | xallyx - I've read The God of Small Things, I thought it was excellent, some of the writing was lovely in that book. I can see it becoming a classic. I thought A Million Little Pieces was also excellent, it's a shame all of the media surrounding that book now, I thought it was really raw and really well written. I was named after Daphne Du Maurier's 'Rebecca' ![]() __________________ I think the world may just surprise you yet. | I keep a book list in my head. But not on paper. I probably should start writing the books down because most of the time, I forget what books they were. But here's my next two: 1) The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown 2) The Five People You Meet In Heaven by Mitch Albom __________________ "There was nothing left in my life at this point that was more important than Jacob Black." | I have read, to be read, to buy, library, series, and owned lists. I keep most of them on my handheld computer so I remember what I'm looking for and what I already have when I go to the bookstore or the library. | |||

| Just like Soz and onionroach I have several different types of lists. The most important ones are the ones of books that look interesting to buy/look into and books that I am hoping to read in the near future(and by that I mean the next few years). I don't know, I never really break even on it. One of my friends thinks that I am absolutely crazy because I can literally search through those listomania lists on Amazon.com for hours just searching for new books to read. I was going to compile a list of all the books that I own in an electronic library but I just figured that the time could be better spent actually reading the many books that I still have to get through. __________________ Trory Leather Librarian | |||

| I have a list of what to read/buy. I don't usually keep a list of what I've read, though I've thought about it recently. __________________ Chelsea | |||

| I haven't kept actual book lists before, but recently if I hear about/see a good book, I'll write it down. It seems like a good idea though, maybe I'll give it a try ![]() __________________ -audrey- | |||

Same here. I have so many on it that I wonder when I'm going to find the time and money to read them. __________________ If my heart could beat it would break my chest | |||

| I didn't even mention my electronic online lists. I have accounts at both Bibliophil and LibraryThing (I joined LT when Biblio wasn't working). Lately I've been tagging things like mad on them and it helps me keep my series straight. If I ever get a PDA phone or get the web service actived on my mobile, I will use the mobile link on Bibliophil, then I probably won't need my text lists on a PDA anymore- more room for ebooks that way. ![]() Last edited by Soz : 05-25-2006 at 11:32 AM. | |||

| ^ I never thought about keeping my list online - that's a pretty good idea. I'll have a mosey. ![]() __________________ I think the world may just surprise you yet. That's a good way to keep track of books that I had wanted to read and the forgotten abouit. __________________ "Keep in mind, Were under the same sky, And the nights, As empty for me as for you." |Dawson♥Joey|Lucas♥Peyton|Nathan♥Haley|Dylan♥Brenda| -Sarah | |||
