Cold Mountain

I have to read this book for school, and I did, but...I have to choose a topic to write an essay about, and I chose the relationship between Ada and Ruby, and how it transforms throughout the book, and how they change each other. My problem is, that, I need help with it. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions they can give me regarding this essay topic? Or, a better or easier essay topic to write about regarding the book? Thanks

The book is wonderful, I'd highly recommend it. I read it first and then watched the movie which luckily is quite faithful to the story. It's a brilliant read
