That's a good point. I thought of that too. Nicknames does tend to seem childlike, which is something so way off for the vampires.

Yeah that's true as well. He has had a century of living and observing others. He has learned a lot about people, their actions and their motives. However, that is also his downfall. One of the reasons why he is so drawn to Bella is that he can't predict her actions. She is very erratic in her thinking and the things she does, which is so new to him. Because of this, he cannot use the same methods as he does for other people. Thus, walking out on her is only going to devastate her and not make her bitter enough to move on. He sure did learn his lesson.


My senior thesis in college was mostly on BtVS and the greatness of Joss. I have no idea how I passed it, but I'm happy I did.

I can't imagine someone calling Ed or Eddie...too odd
He's mature and nicknames don't seem to fit with his character

I read a lot of fanfics with the characters calling him that and they writers always makes it so it pisses me off. Honestly, I dont think nicknames go well with him either.

Yeah it's like the same thing with Charlie, like could anyone imagine him being called Charles? Hmm even though he is much older the nickname fits his personality a lot better.

But I was actually reading New Moon today in school & I was at the part where Alice calls Rosalie about Edward going to Italy & Alice called her Rose, so hmm guess only the Cullens can nickname themselves

Oh yeah I totally forgot about Rosalie, being Rose. That's a good point.

If you think about it, they never get close enough to a human to get a nickname, so you might have a point there too.

yeah, it does sound weird. Edward is not Eddie or Ed. that's not him. He's Edward.

oh yeah. well see they do mostly call her Rosalie. so i never thought of that either. i forgot too.

Charles. that sounds weird. Charlie does fit his personality better.

i guess it just all depends with nicknames.

Yup nicknames need to fit the personality, like with me my full name is Rebekka but of course everyone calls me Bekka, I guess I'm not too grown up yet to be called Rebekka, nor do I ever wanna be called Rebekka. So yeah nicknames=personality.
