Books/Series You Hate That Everyone Else Loves!

I think the title sort of explains itself. So I'll start it off with...

~ The Lord of the Rings series

Terry Pratchett's DiscWorld. Everyone's always telling me how these books are so hilarious. But I've tried 3 different books from the series, and I just can't get into them. (I did, however, love Good Omens, which Pratchett co-wrote with Neil Gaiman.)

Kushiel's Dart by Jacqueline Carey. I swear I'm the only person in the world who hated this book.

Bridget Jones. B-O-R-I-N-G. I liked the movie though.

I didn't like Lemmoney Snicket's books. It's not because it was too easy or juvenille but it was too repetitive. The stories line were the same except for the different locations and characters, I know some people who disliked it as well but my cousin and her friends are still obsessed

As a kid, I never got into Goosebumps. I tried one and just couldn't finish it.

I loved the two LOTR movies but both books I've put down after 4 pages and never been able to pick up again. Yes I'll be so hyped after the third movie that I'll try again with the third book but it's just not likely to happen. That's one tale that's much better to be seen, than to be read, I think.

I wouldn't necessary say I hate the LOTR series, but I have had no desire or interest to read the books or see the movies.

Man, my roommate (and best friend) would seriously have issues with you.

She is a major LOTR fan. She rewatches the movie about twice a week.

No, I can't stand Jane Ayre (sp?). My mom said that it was her favorite book of all time, and I thought it was the dullest book that I had ever seen.

That and Nancy Drew. Bleah.

OK, here's my literary equivalent of nails down a blackboard. A Walk To Remember. Reading this was like watching a car accident - it was too awful to be true, but you couldn't tear your eyes away.

Characters? one-dimensional. Plot? Predictable. Writing? Sick-making and unimaginative.

Terry Pratchett also makes it onto my list
