The first book that came to my mind was Bridget Jones' Diary and its sequel. The second book even made me laugh harder than the first one.

Le Mariage de Figaro by Beaumarchais is probably the funniest piece I've ever read, and watching in onstage is even more hilarious.
Anne of Green Gables and the whole series are bittersweet books. There are very funny moments but also very sad ones. The first book of the series is very funny though.
Most books from my childhood made me laugh, but the older I got, the more I looked for mature books, and those aren't usually funny.

Angus, Thongs and Full-Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison. This is the first book in a series, and seriously, they make me laugh out loud.

I like the Confessions series by Sophia Kinsella (sp?) and any of David Sedaris' books.

Pride, Prejudice and Jasmin Field is a pretty funny book. It's a contemporary look at Pride & Prejudice.

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series is the funniest thing I have ever read. It has made me laugh so hard that I've cried and woken my husband up from a dead sleep. He was very alarmed, which unfortunately, just added to the humor of it all. A definite must read if you are looking for funny.

Anything by Louis Sachar. Especially Sixth Grade Secrets, There's a Boy In The Girl's Bathroom, and Wayside School is Falling Down. Pure greatness.

I love Louis Sachar as well.

All the Series of Unfortunate Events books always make me laugh.

And How to be Funny by Bob Stine (aka R.L. Stine, I think) is hilarious. I can't stand his horror books though.

Some of the books I was going to list have already been mentioned:
the Confessions of a Shopaholic series
Big Fish and Perks of Being a Wallflower had some funny parts

When I was a kid I laughed at:
There's a Boy In The Girl's Bathroom
Wayside School is Falling Down
Joe's Boa Constrictor or some title like that.

I can't think of more right now.
