Couldn't find a thread for this magnificent book, so I decided to start one.

I just wanted to discuss the book and the effects it had with other people who had read it. Also, what was your overall impression?

I read it some months ago and really liked it.

What made me buy it in the first place was that the story is narrated by Death. I mean, that's something new. And then I was just completely drawn into the story. After all, that girls steals books because she can't get hold of them otherwise. I kinda understood her. And the whole thing with Max...

I'm totally gonna re-read it.

Yay! I found someone lol sorry its taken me so long to reply.. i cant believe there arent more people on this thread. i mean, this is one of the most touching books ive ever read.

I loved the fact that it was narrated by death, and that death was sympathetic and not portrayed as cruel or emotionless like death is stereotypically.

this book made me cry so much, i felt so in tune with characters... it truly depicted how horrific war is, and the effects that carry on for years...
