I recently read Slated, a nice YA distopian book. Not perfect, but still enjoyable. Has anyone else read it?

Guys. I'm super sad.
Can you give me some happy ending recommendations? I need love conquers all, good guys win, with a nice plot and a super sweet romance, if at all possible.

I am so disappointed with an author, I feel like her K/O of the main character was completely unnecessary. Just a general disappointment.

It just furthers my wariness of reading series, I almost always get disappointed as they go on.

Recommendations:
I'm a fantasy and sci-fi nut so i don't know if my recs will be any good.
Mercy Thompson series - warning: werewolves, vampires, etc. but they aren't the point of the story
Kate Daniels series - warning: shapeshifters, vampires, etc. but these are my favorite variations
Lies of Locke Lamora - Hahahahaha, that's not light hearted at all! I just don't know what to put here
im not good at this

Hey Shay-La, I just happened to come across this thread and see your request for feel good recommendations. It's a series of four books but I recommend Laura Pederson's books that start with Beginner's Luck. They're about a teenager in her last years of high school who's great at gambling. She get caught though at the beginning of the series and the misadventures she goes through are great with wonderful supporting characters, a good romance and plenty of (realistic) twists and turns to get her to a happy ending.

Great thread idea!

I am a fan of Julia Quinn. Any suggestions? She mainly writes historical romances.

Ah.. Historical.

Here is a ton of books in that genre.
https://www.goodreads.com/genres/new...orical-romance

Also I read this historical series (yet with a twist)

Once the flames are ignited . . .

Miranda Ellis is a woman tormented. Plagued since birth by a strange and powerful gift, she has spent her entire life struggling to control her exceptional abilities. Yet one innocent but irreversible mistake has left her family's fortune decimated and forced her to wed London's most nefarious nobleman.

They will burn for eternity . . .

Lord Benjamin Archer is no ordinary man. Doomed to hide his disfigured face behind masks, Archer knows it's selfish to take Miranda as his bride. Yet he can't help being drawn to the flame-haired beauty whose touch sparks a passion he hasn't felt in a lifetime. When Archer is accused of a series of gruesome murders, he gives in to the beastly nature he has fought so hard to hide from the world. But the curse that haunts him cannot be denied. Now, to save his soul, Miranda will enter a world of dark magic and darker intrigue. For only she can see the man hiding behind the mask

Its like a mixture between Historical romance / Paranormal romance.
