I read through a few pages of the selection, and I like the writing

This is probably a totally random request, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

Does anyone know any good YA fiction series/trilogies/books that have lesbian characters in them? They don't have to be a main character, that isn't really important to me. (Lots and lots of subtext, but no canon stuff is okay too.) I'm not picky about genre or anything, and non-YA suggestions are cool too.

These are the things I've read/am reading so far:

Private - Kate Brian
Hex Hall - Rachel Hawkins
Generation Dead - Daniel Waters
Gone - Michael Grant
Pretty Little Liars - Sara Shepard

Like I said, I know it's kind of a random request for suggestions, but.

If I think of anything I'll let you know, but It's not random. I've always thought their should be more lesbian characters in literature it seems like their aren't a lot of gay character at all, but even less lesbians. It seems so closed minded.

P.S. To all of you who suggested the Hunger Games to me I'm at the beginning of Mockingjay now, really good series.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
Yes, I understand it may be a Teen Fiction book, but it's a beautifully emotional and descriptive read that will have you in tears and in love. I strongly recommend it.

I have all of John Green's book except for Will Grayson, Will Grayson which he wrote with someone else, I haven't gotten that yet.

I've only read Looking for Alaska so far and I loved that one to bits. I have a signed copy of The Fault in Our Stars, when they were doing the preorder and you get one, thing.

I finally finished The Hunger Games. Such a good series. I have no idea why I put off reading it for so long.

The Gallagher Girls series by Ally Carter. Never would I have thought that a book about spies would have be so enthralled, but I've devoured books 2-4 in a matter of days. They're really interesting and really good at keeping you guessing at what is happening next. Plus all the main characters are spies, so they're super cool and you only wish you were as good as them I don't really hear a lot of chatter about them, but they're definitely a series more people should check out.

If you haven't read Divergent by Veronica Roth (plus the sequel) do so now. It's just as good, if not better than The Hunger Games

I would agree with that, it's a fantastic storyline.

The Gemma Doyle trilogy has a lesbian pairing in it.
Otherwise I think that's all that I've read that did. Other books had the occasional gay pairing.

Ah. I guess its not rare these days.

I reccommend "The Immortal Rules" by Julie Kagawa. It was such a great book, with a unique take on the vampire genre. Very mature.

Was it better than her other series? I was not a fan of The Iron King at all.

I'd say it was I have heard a lot of people say the same thing. That it's far superior to her other series.
