[Stay to the Lights]

Hey everyone,

After much thought, Amy and I decided to put in a request to be allowed to incorporate "Writing" into this board for a couple of reasons:

- I always thought that Books/Reading and Writing go pretty much hand in hand in the industry these days.
- I feel it opens up so much more discussions rather than what books we like and authors.
- It might bring in new activity to the board.
- It'll open up the whole area of the board that I felt it would be perfect to be able to discuss Writing aspects.


So not only can we discuss our favourite books and authors, but now.. we'll be able to talk about any aspects to Writing you can think of such as ; Do you write? Have you published any novels? What motivates you to write? Any tips to other aspiring writers and other things that would go in this area.

Even though I have yet to get confirmation (and please any MM tell me otherwise) but since our Board Name as now been changed to "Books and Writing" I felt that was some sort of go-ahead, so I figure I'd make this thread at any cost.

Amy and I also wanted to get your input on this new change, and anything else you think we should bring to this board that would bring the board alive again. We have discussed bringing back the "Book of the Month aka Book Club" What do you think? Is this something people would want to participate in again?

Also.. we're also open to any suggestions on new things we could do. Now or in the future.

I think this is an awesome idea!! Tbh I don't read a lot at the moment but I love writing and have aspirations to write/publish. Could have lots of thread ideas to fit into this theme.

What about geared towards the writing a thread where each maybe week someone posts a prompt like a word or a picture or something to go off of like you walk into a room and see this [insert here] and people do little writing prompts back to it. where they can help each other and work off of the prompts?

Writing prompts. That's a good idea. I have seen those around on fanfic sites.

I also like the idea of incorporating writing here. Not only is it a great way to add more activity here, but also help gather the aspiring writers here in one place.

I think it's a great idea...

I'm not into fanfiction.. but it also gives this topic a great place to talk about since there is no board about that anymore (At least I remember there was a board, was there? )

I'm not sure if fanfiction is covered, to be honest. We can certainly have a thread for it, but I think that would be it.
