April Book Club: Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning

Hey Everyone
The book nominated and chosen by all of you this month for our book club is Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning. Darkfever is the first in a series (trilogy?) of books and I can honestly say, that's about all I know about this book so I'm hoping to learn more as I read it and get the chance to talk with all of you about the book.
Keep in mind that this thread is for Darkfever and that not all of us have read the other books so no spoilers, please. There is a thread here for the entire series, so feel free to get in on all the conversation about all of the books there (which I'm sure many of you already have.
Here is a link to the Darkfever Amazon.com page, which contains this information about the book:
Quote:
MacKayla "Mac" Lane is a small-town southern girl living a life of suntans and shopping. All that changes when her sister dies in Ireland and a cryptic message on Mac's cell phone raises disturbing questions about the nature of her sister's death. Mac follows the lead to Dublin and the strange life her sister led, on to the darkly dangerous book-dealer Jericho Barrons, and a burgeoning war with deadly Fae that humankind doesn't even realize has begun. Time-travel-romance maven Moning reshapes her Celtic lore for a radically different and engaging new dark fantasy series. Mac's first-person narrative is more than point of view; it's a true recounting of how a sheltered young girl grows to accept the role fate has dealt her. And while moments of sexual awareness hint that a relationship between Mac and Jericho could complicate matters in the future, wisely there is no full-blown romance here to distract from the complex introduction to Moning's new world.
Sounds interesting. I can't wait to read it. Alright everyone, have fun discussing.

This is appropriate since I just finished reading Darkfever. I'll wait for others to finish it before I say anything, although some of you from the Fever thread already know what I though.

I plan on going and picking it up at the bookstore tomorrow, so I should finish it sometime next week. Then I'll be back.

I'm halfway through now, and I have to admit, I'm loving it! It's well written and Mac has a great personnality. I love that she has flaws. Makes her more real.

I love Mac's character and the fact that she is flawed..it actually makes her more likeable I think. She's what my family would call a "spitfire"

OK, I couldn't find this book at my local bookstore. What section is it in? Romance or Sci-fi/Fantasy. I looked in Sci-Fi/Fantasy and didn't find it and I really don't want to order it online because I don't want to pay shipping and handling but I'd still like to read it.

I also looked in Science Fiction first when I went to buy it, but at my local BN it was in the Romance section
