Angels&Demons.

In my opinion one of the best books out there today. Have you read it? What is your opinion of it?

It's been overshadowed by The Da Vinci Code but I don't think it's any worse.

I have this book. It's interesting, I like the way it makes you think, but for some reason I just don't like Dan Brown very much. Perhaps it's the fact that The Da Vinci Code was so hyped and talked-about (which was very annoying), I don't know. If you like Dan Brown you should read Jeffrey Deaver - they're similar. Try the Lincoln Rhyme series.

I liked Angels and Demons more than I liked The DaVinci Code to be honest. They were both good books but the first one seemed so fresh while the second one was a recycled version of the first. But it seems that most people like whichever one they read first. It's interested to see what he'll do in his third book with Robert Langdon, but it doesn't sound too interesting. Kind of like the movie, National Treasure. Has anyone read any of Dan Brown's other books?

I've heard that Angels & Demons is the better of the books.

I read the Da Vinci Code first & then found out about Angels&Demons, which is the better one in my opinion.
I've read Digiteal Fortress & Deception Point too but somehow I just don't like them as much. I kinda have a soft spot for Robert Langdon so.. That's probably the reason

I read Angels and Demons on holiday recently. I was surprised how much I liked it as I found the DaVinci Code quite over hyped and and a bit same-y throughout. I liked being able to visualise Rome from A&D, and how everything fits together. I found it quite informative on how the Pope and the Vatican works. Interesting.

It's my favourite book of all time!

Personally, I don't think it gets as much credit as it should. I wish they'd made it a film before "The DaVinci Code" to give it some publicity.

Yeah, but Angels and Demons didn't make the controversial claim that The DaVinci Code did, so obviously it didn't get the attention. Which sucks, because it was a good book, but people always seem to be drawn to the fire of controversy. I thought DaVinci Code was good but it was a recycled formula, almost exactly like the last book, and I thought the ending was fairly cheesy, in the book and the movie to be honest.

Yeah, it's supposed to premiere 2008. Tom Hanks is reprising his role as Robert Langdon.
I've also heard that supermodel Gisele Bundchen is lined up to play Vittoria Vetra. I really, REALLY don't like that idea. I just never pictured Vittoria as a.. well, supermodel. =//

Like a lot of people here I much preferred Angels and Demons to the Da Vinci code.

I also read Digital Fortress and Deception Point but I wasn't as impressed - they all seem fairly formulaic so once you've read a couple of his books you can figure out whose behind whatever's going on fairly easily! I'll still probably read the next one though, after all everyone will probably be taking about it!
