Alex Delaware is a literary character created by Jonathan Kellerman in the 1985 novel When the Bough Breaks. Delaware appears in 24 of Kellerman's popular murder mystery series set in Los Angeles. Delaware's character is a forensic psychologist, although Kellerman provides the character with a back story as a practising child psychologist.
