The 50 Book Challenge: The End of the 2007 Challenge Approaches!

If you're unfamiliar with the 50 book challenge: it's basically a challenge to read 50 books in the span of a year. This thread is for keeping track of the books that you've read so far this year. You don't have to be trying for 50 books to post on the thread; if that goal is too high or too low (or you want to try the challenge for less than a year), you can set your own goal or set a different type of goal, like a goal for the number of pages you want to read. What you choose to include toward you goal is also up to you: you can include re-reads, books for classes, graphic novels and/or manga, etc. depending on what feels right to you. If you have any reading goals at all, you're welcome to come record your progress here. So come on in and join the fun!

ETA: The previous thread can be found at The 50 Book Challenge: From Jane Austen to Jane Green.

I think I'm going to make it. I need four more books by the first of the year but I'm going home on the 14th and that should give me enough time to read four books by the end of the year, uninterrupted that is. They may have to be shorter though, so I won't have a very high page goal. I'm considering doing a page goal for next year instead of a book goal. Perhaps 25,000 pages which would be at least 50 books over 500 pages. I want something more challenging, even though I'm close to not completing my easier goal, lol. I'm a tad bit crazy.

I'm 7 books away from my goal, and I don't think I'm gonna make it but who knows.

I haven't posted any of the books I've read this year on here yet so I'm just gonna share the ones I've read this month:

37. A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hossein
38. On Chesil Beach by Ian McEwan
39. Where You Once Belonged by Kent Haruf
40. Gossip Girl by Cecily von Ziegesar
41. Gossip Girl: You Know You Love Me by Cecily von Ziegesar
42. Gossip Girl: All I Want is Everything by Cecily von Ziegesar
43. The Ice Harvest by Scott Phillips

I've been trying to do the 50 book challenge since 2004 and so far I've only managed to do it in 2005 and that was with 50 books exactly. Looks like I may not be doing it this either. But we'll see...

I think I might join this next year. I was sitting around the house a few days ago and was thinking about how great this thread/idea is...and I figured I should join in and try it out and see how I do.

I'll definitely try to do the 50 book challenge in 2008, seeing as how many (or rather how few) books I have managed to read so far this year.
