Behind Rebel Lines: the Incredible Story of Emma Edmonds, Civil War Spy by Seymour Reit. Fascinating story of a woman who dressed up as a man to join the Union army

When He Was Wicked by Julia Quinn. I was a bit nervous about this book because I wasn't too impressed with the previous one in the series, so I was a bit afraid that Quinn might be losing her touch. I had no reason to fear though because WHWW was great! Quinn can do angst as well as she does humor.

To Kill a Mockingbird>> Harper Lee. I loved it so much. I handed it to a friend yesterday, but once I get it back I'll read it again as soon as possible. It's awsome.

Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger

I adore Salinger, so I really enjoyed this novel. The stories were just so quirky and unexpected... A true pleasure to read.

Kissing the Rain by Kevin Brooks -- started out kind of disappointed because it was written in such a different style from Lucas (one of Brooks' other books), but then I started to admire Brooks for being able to write in a different style like that, esp. when it really helped me get inside the main character's mind. I was also impressed with how unpredictable the novel was--I never knew what was going to happen next.

I also reread The Song Reader by Lisa Tucker, which is still an amazing book although not quite as good as I remember.

A collection of Guy de Maupassant short stories. Wonderful, of course.
