I think they were getting tired of having to renegotiate after 5 years--although if it's a success, sometimes that happens anyway.

Though I sometimes assume her lack of screentime is due to them wanting to save money. Unless she probably is not getting along well with marshall and/or some others and hence they reduced her screentime (happens a lot in this business, though then she would leave the show I guess). Who knows. She hasn't been treated fair anyways.

I would bet she gets paid by the episode so it doens't really matter how much screen time she has--if she's in it, she gets paid for it. When shows are looking to cut costs, you'll often hear of shows signing actors to fewer episode appearances in a season.
