True but still esp Hayden has become more active again since december (like in 2013-2014). My assumption is that both Hayden and Jonathan are less invested in the show than in S1-3 for obvious reasons.
And as I said if one or both get some good offer, they might leave after this season. If not they will of course stay. But as of now it's early. We have to still see if it even gets another season.

I also hope if there is another season, that they finally can agree to make a 12 ep season and not 22. That would make for more compact and interesting story telling.

They have a good dynamic for sure. If they don't get any great offer I'm sure they will do another season. I just hope that ratings won't either be too bad or too good, so that CMT renews it, but for a shorter maybe 12 episode season. Just not 22 eps again.

If they do get on another show I'd love it if they did another show together. Or hayden and connie.

I know but I read somewhere that part of the reason why Connie did some CMT episodes is because she was contractually obligated. Which, if she signed a 7 year contract, she likely was if they were willing to meet her original contract details to keep her.

But I'd imagine they renegotiated for a lower salary with the rest of the cast and may be shorter contracts for sure.

I don't know for everyone, but I read on TVline last summer, that Hayden signed for 22 episodes, while connie was unsure.

I honestly don't fully understand why she was on the show. I mean she was funny but it was mostly just chit chat between james, shirley and hayden and a game they later played. She did not say one world about her movie and just few words about Nashville.
