3x03: “ONE OF US, ONE OF THEM”

When four ruthless, powerful Villains - "Knox", Flint, The German and Jesse - burst into a bank and begin brutalizing hostages, Angela sends H.R.G. and his shocking, newly empowered partner in after them. Determined to derail a cataclysmic future, Peter must first find what he lost along the way. Meanwhile, Hiro and Ando track Daphne and part of "the formula" to Germany, but run afoul of The Haitian. It was awesome, I loved the Claire/Meredith stuff

the fire scene was intense and Hayden and Jessalyn were both really great in it. I liked what Meredith was trying to show her, although it obviously didn't work, heh.

I think it's interesting the way they've had her react to what Sylar did to her. The way I see them trying to portray it is that, in a way (obviously not sexually), she was raped by Sylar. It wasn't the fact that he physically hurt her, because being hurt is not something that bothers her, but the emotional trauma of being afraid and violated in that way is what seems to have affected her. And obviously the fact that he took a little piece of her away from her when he did it, which has left her feeling less human. It's weird, because I really enjoyed Sylar in this episode but at the same time I hate him for what he's done to Claire.

Usually what he does doesn't affect people because.. well, they die. Claire's going to have to live with the trauma of what he did to her forever, and while I think it's a really great storyline for her, I hate seeing her go through it

Hayden just plays it so well.

Kirsty, I couldn't agree with you more. It's a very interesting and somewhat daring take on how they're playing this. Rape is such a touchy subject and yet I can imagine Claire would feel violated in the same way. Theoretically, she still has everything she had before and yet he still took something from her.

The scenes between Claire and Meredith were really well acted. I know some people get annoyed with Claire's teenage angst but I do feel her woe is me followed by impetuousness is very true to life.

I can't wait to see whether or not Claire finds herself in over her head. It's one thing to dream of vengeance, it's quite another to take it.

oh my good I loved the episode... I really liked her angst part, it is well acted

and I love her being kickass so much

Her wanting to fight it...

exactly, and I'm really glad they did take it in this direction, because it's realistic that Claire would feel like this.

Me too, and I much prefer the angst she's going through now as opposed to boy issues. I think anyone would be a little woe is me after what happened to her, heh. At least she's not moping around her room crying about it.. it may be rash and stupid but at least she is trying to be pro-active and do something.

Definitely curious to see how it plays out though, because I don't know how she thinks she's going to actually come face to face any of the bad guys. Meredith kinda proved that being able to heal isn't everything..
