I think either way that she is screwed pretty much.
Even though its Fut. Peters fault bc he told her to stay in Califorina and not come to Odessa. If she had come to Odessa then Sylar would have never gotten to her.

I always thought that the "dark" in Future Claire came from the fact that Nathan told everyone about his special powers and not not being able to feel pain...although that would give more context to it. This is not a smart show. It's a fun show...but not a smart one.

However, maybe they were going on the virus getting out. There's that bit in the S2 DVDs where Kring and crew show the storyboards for future eps when they were still gonna run with the virus line, which would have eventually included their ideas for Villains, which would've been S4. In the storyboards, Claire came to Odessa to help heal people when she sees Nathan on the TV, so they could be refering to that

Also, if Nathan hadn't been shot and it had got out about people having powers....I think Claire would've still gone to Odessa, having seen the speech on TV. One to see people's reactions to something she was going to do herself (reveal the truth about 'specials') and two to finally see Peter again after thinking he was dead for four months. That'd be enough to make me pack a bag
