Since the pilot, so three years now. It's not clear if they encountered each other in the field prior to the pilot, but they already knew of each other. And they both had dealings with Carina in the past (before Chuck), but it isn't clear if it was during a common mission.

I was wondering, because in season 3, when Casey talked to Chuck about Sarah shooting Shaw's wife, Casey said "That was 5 years ago.". So I assumed they already had known each otherr several years.

If you recall from the pilot, they knew of each other, but were anything but friendly - or even civil to each other. It wasn't until Chuck got the intersect that they were assigned to work together.
