MM you never read HP? Wow this is a first, usually i always end up finding someone somewhere who is a fan.

I LOVE HP and i'm very annoyed at what WB and Co are doing to HBP right now.

I'm too annoyed with what they're doing but in the end, as long as we see it, I'm good. Plus I see it as there's much less of a wait from HBP to DHpt1. I'm dying for HBP though, it's my fav book.

I just don't think with all the scene they are changing from book to movie that i will enjoy HBP. I must warn you that i'm a Ron and R&HR shipper and while i'm glad Ron is having center stage i don't like the fact that some scenes are being completely turned to *please* the movie fans rather then the canon ones.

It's going to be 2 years between OOTP and HBP and trust me when i tell you that THIS was not a smart move.

It wasn't at all. But it's a move we have to deal with. Not like we can change it. They have to already slated and set. I HOPE they change their minds but I doubt they'll change the opening date twice.

I haven't read spoilers for HBP!movie so I dunno what scenes you're referring to but I always go into the movie completely differently. I don't like to look for everything to be the same between the two since that'll never happen and I'll never like it. I wrote a post on another forum about this topic.

I would rather they make a film that captures the essence of the book, what it's really about, than if they put every single insignificant detail of the book in the movie. If I wanted to see the book played out, I'd buy a pop up book.

Sometimes I think those uncompromising diehard fans should never watch the movie versions of the comic/book/cartoon/whatever because they're always the first to dismiss it because it doesn't include the 40340388th detail that was in the book.

That's my deal with HP books/movies. The fans, lol.

I'm a diehard fan and have read/own every book but I never go into the movie expecting it to be a replica. Or else I'll always be disappointed. POA had some of the least similarities to the book and left some of the biggest stuff out but it was arguably the second best movie of the series. I think OoTP was the best movie, it captured everything seamlessly.

I agree that the books cannot be completely transcripted to the movies and OOTP is the best example for it. It wasn't the book 100% but the major parts of it were in it for sure. POA was disaster with lines going to Hr that were Rons, with Pink Power Ranger Hermione going all around, and they made Ron a whimp (by no no with me). It's no surprise that POA is the movie that made less money in the collection of the 5 already made/premiered.

About HBP i have read the spoilers and what is and isn't in it, and so far trust me when i tell you that I'M not happy. Some things can and are changed that's a given but some MOMENTS just loose all meaning when they are twisted.

I'll wait to watch it. Sometimes when you read suckass spoilers, they surprise you when you watch it. It's really different to read something on paper and then see it on screen.

What is this shenanigans?! Okay, well, the first book was read to me in 3rd grade. And then I saw the first movie on a bus trip in 5th grade, AND, the most recent movie at a movie theater in Montauk when it was raining and there was nothing else to do/no other movies to see. I think Ron/Hermione may be a guilty pleasure, but I'm not going to pee myself waiting for this movie, and I'm sure as hell not reading those books.

Watching the VMAs preshow. Not sure why. I guess because the remote is on the other side of the room. The VMAs are just terrible now. I couldn't even watch this year, and I love Russel.

I didn't watch the VMAs either. They've been bad for a while now, not the same as before.
